Gain brings joy to New York neighborhoods’ daily laundry experience with help from Leslie Grace, Portraits of Hope and the community.
What :
• When art, music and culture meet in an unexpected way, anything is possible. With the help of the community and Bronx-born musician Leslie Grace, Gain transforms ordinary neighborhood Laundromats into something truly special – unlocking unexpected doses of joy in communities throughout the city.
• Gain, with help from Portraits of Hope, has transformed six laundromat locations throughout the Bronx, Spanish Harlem and Washington Heights, into colorful, multi-dimensional art landscapes, created by community residents and local school children.
How :
• Partner with Bronx-born musician Leslie Grace to showcase how art, music and culture collide to celebrate the launch of six community-decorated Laundromats throughout the Bronx, Spanish Harlem and Washington Heights. Leslie’s concert takes the celebration to the next level, bringing attention to the community’s work to beautify their neighborhoods.
• In addition to seeing Leslie Grace perform live, community members will be able to view the art itself, receive Gain Flings giveaways, and take “selfies” within the art installation for a chance to win greater prizing utilizing through the Instagram sweepstakes using the hashtag #MusicToYourNose.
