MY BLOGGER BASH RECAP #BBNYC #KIDZVUZBTS #SWEETSUITE14

11 Aug

When I purchased a ticket to Blogger Bash Conference I knew I was going to have fun for two-days playing with toys, connecting with sponsors, stuffing my face and taking home lots of great swag. Once I saw the list of sponsors and blogger friends attending and encouraged even more bloggers to come I was so excited and counting the days.

Day 1, Sweet Suite kicked off the conference/party with lots of great sponsors. Kidz Bop Kids welcomed us into the building and signed an autographed picture for us to take home. We also were directed to the badge table where we got to decorate and personalize our name badge courtesy of Crayola. Hasbro, Activision, Razor, Lego, Crayola, Just Play, HexBug, Creativity for Kids, Faber-Castell, Jazwares, Techno Source (Kurio), Play Vision, Boogie Board, Uncle Milton, Bananagrams, Tech 4 Kids, Spin Master and Disney Infinity were a few of my favorites. I enjoyed talking to the reps and playing with toys, taking pictures, and learning about the new toys coming out this year. I even won a Kurio tablet for my kids after skiing on one of the cool apps on their device. It comes out in October so they are excited to get it. Crayola came in handy for back to school. I’ve always used Crayola even when I was little so it was nice to talk with them. They even had tables set up to let us decorate lunch bags for our kids to take home. Razor showed their new scooters and my daughter would flip for the light up one they showed. It’s not out yet but I’m sure the rep said September or October. I’ve always wanted a Boogie Board for the kids. I’ve seen them in Costco but never purchased one. I was glad to see the reps there and learn more about it. Jazwares was a must because my kids love Minecraft and I had to make it my business to connect with them. My daughter loves arts and crafts, drawing, painting and Faber-Castell high quality products are just right for her to show her creative side. Bananagrams is an Anagram game that will keep my kids busy on the road or just hanging out at home, a friends house, or at the park. I also have a back to school picnic coming up that will be great to bring with us too. Just Play had Care Bear come to life and I got to take a picture and even won a huge Care Bear that was sent to my house. I also loved Doc McStuffins toys. My daughter is a huge fan. Hasbro wouldn’t be Hasbro with My Little Pony toys which my daughter is obsessed with. Activision’s Skylander game is on my son’s wish list. I even want that game. Lego is a must in our family. We love building and these keep us busy as a family. I love the new Marvel and DC Comic Superheroes Lego figures. Tech 4 Kids booth had the WWE rumble fists, and punching bag that were a big hit. Spin Master never lets me down and I am biting my nails for the new doll Chatsters to come out this fall. I asked the representative at Spin Master how they came up with the idea for Chatsters. She explained she was born from a focus group of little girls. They were asked what they would like in a doll. She is so cute and perfect for tech savvy girls. She communicates with you through her interactive glasses which are mini LED screens. In addition to interacting with you she will also respond to her dog (Boomer), lipstick and other accessories. Her glasses can play mini games too. Chatster will have her own app where you can discover her other features and she can even text you for free through the app, no data charges will apply. HexBug previewed its new line of Vex Robotics. My kids are fans of the Aquabot 2.0 robotic fish. I need to order more because one is definitely not enough. I also want to get the fish tank as well. Uncle Milton toys brought along their new Frozen room decor. My daughter will enjoy this decor in her room. Disney Infinity hooked everyone up with a Preview Edition Tinkerbell 2.0 Figure. What a great collectors item.

Skylanders Trap Team invited everyone Into their suite with video games, photo opps with one of the characters and delicious cupcakes.

Angry Birds Stella After Party was just right to end the day with. All the bloggers gathered in a beautifully decorated room with a DJ playing great music old and new, food from Taco Bell which I personally don’t eat, hot dogs, humungous cookies with Stella Angry Bird face on it, drinks, etc. We danced to all the songs and had a great time. Of course we didn’t want the party to end but we knew we had Day 2 to attend and we needed our rest.

Day 2 started with a Bat-tastic breakfast by Lego Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment’s LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham #LEGOBatmanGame
I enjoyed learning about this new game and playing this action packed adventure game with friends. Buffet breakfast was yummy with a variety of hot and cold foods and drinks.

We had a speed dating session with brands where we sat down face to face and learned about their products up close and personal in the 2.5 hour session. We went table to table to brands that participated. I was able to ask questions, leave my business card, and receive important info.

Chicken Soup for the Soul had food demos that showcased new Chicken Soup line of food products. The food was delicious. I personally loved the meatballs but everything was delicious.

EA Events Social Suite was the place to be if you wanted manicures, makeup touch ups from Cover Girl, Jet Set dress by Lisa Maree, arm candy from Joseph Nogucci, lip gloss by Cover Girl as well, goodies from Washdrops (car wash solution), AutoTex Pink wiper blades, Wubble Bubble Ball demos, Alex Lemonade Stand samples (I also donated). Smokey The Bear was there taking pics and celebrating his 70th birthday.

Korus kept everyone dancing when they demoed their wireless, portable speakers and had a contest where you bring your playlist on your smartphone and play DJ so you could try and win a speaker or a set.

MZ Wallace had a collection of their handbags and totes on display. The VIP attendees received a free handbag. (Jealous) I’ve seen this handbag around and always wanted one but never knew the name. Now I know and I still want one and a few of the gorgeous totes too. There’s even a farmer’s market tote available now. I hope to own a few handbags and totes one day.

Wow Wee had MIP the toy robot at their station . I love robots and this will definitely be on my kids wish list.

Anne Geddes world renowned photographer was at Baby Palooza to talk and her family attended. She autographed copies of her book and was a pleasure to meet.

KidzVuz Back To School was strictly for the kids and my kids made sure to be in attendance. They were waiting for this for weeks and I was glad they got to experience this fun event. I am also glad Blogger Bash thought of the kids when planning this conference.

So many great sponsors for the kids to run around to. My son made it his business to stop at Microsoft first. He loves technology and wanted to see what new tablets or laptops they had in store. He was very impressed after speaking with the rep and now wants one of course. Lands End had kids put together a back to school outfit and pose for the camera. I loved all the clothes and accessories. My daughter even had the chance to model in a back to school fashion show the next month wearing Lands End and got to keep all the pieces. She loved it and did a great job!!! My daughter spotted glitter and ribbons and made her way to Star Stable to get a hair makeover. She also got to play this game on the iPad that was provided to keep kids occupied . It’s an online adventure horse game. She enjoyed it and loved her hair makeover. School Specialty the arts & craft supply store had a money booth with fake money that kids entered and was timed to grab as much fake money as possible so they could collect school supplies when finished. Parents even got to go in too. There were no losers and my kids had a ball. They racked up on school supplies. Hasbro had all the toys my daughter wanted. Littlest Pet Shop is one of her favorites. UniKey can turn my smartphone into a universal key. Attach a Kevo fob to your child’s backpack for easy, convenient access to the home. I would love this for my family. I hate looking for my keys or losing them in the house. This would make things so easier. Speck handed out cell phone and iPad mini cases. Their cases have been protecting my iPhone and iPad mini for years. Love the colors and designs.

Make My Cake handed out cupcakes which were amazing. I live a few blocks away from them so we enjoyed having them at Blogger Bash.

After running around to all the sponsors all the kids were given Lands End book bags and a bunch of toys.
Everyone who attended Sweet Suite was also sent a box full of awesome toys to their house. The kids couldn’t wait for that. They loved everything in the box. Something for everyone. I put a video of my daughter opening the box on social media. My daughter also made videos with KidzVuz discussing and reviewing her favorite toys.

I’d like to thank everyone connected with Blogger Bash for a great time. I hope it returns to NY again.

Disclosure: I was not compensated for this post. Opinions are 100% mine as always. My kids and I received lots of swag.

Great catching up with you! Too bad we didn’t win the Korus Speakers though!
