New Exhibitions For The Entire Family @ Liberty Science Center & Ticket Giveaway #LSCSummer18 #ad

29 Jul

We headed to Liberty Science Center recently to check out their new summertime exhibitions: GROSSOLOGY, ARTHUR’S WORLD, DINO DIG & THE PLANETARIUM. Every time we go we enjoy ourselves more and more. This time GROSSOLOGY was our favorite. More for my kids ages. Don’t get me wrong all the exhibits were great but for teens and tweens GROSSOLOGY and The Planetarium hit it on the nose.

Nicely put by LSC here’s what GROSSOLOGY is all about: Based on the best-selling book of the same name, Grossology explores all the slimy, oozy, crusty, stinky questions you’ve always wondered but have been too afraid to ask. As you crawl and climb through the human body, and play games that reveal the secrets of boogers, vomit, odors, and more, you’ll find yourself saying “Ewww, gross!” in the best way possible!.

Become a dust particle and walk through a giant nose to learn about air filtering, mucus production, and more.

Climb a human skin wall with warts, hairs, and wounds

Visit the Vomit Center and learn the many reasons humans throw up, or the Toot Toot area to create different sounds that replicate the physics of gas.

Crawl and slide through a 30-foot-long 3D model of the digestive system.

We enjoyed the burps and belches station, the I.Q test game which my son beat me at, the digestive system, boogers boogers, gas attack pinball machine and the toot-toot area. They all were fun. We spent most of our time here.

Grossology is a premium exhibition for which there is an additional admission fee. June 30- Sept 23, 2018.

ARTHUR’S WORLD: In Arthur’s World, you’re invited to build a love of reading and learning through activities set within classic Arthur locations. Look up recipes and find something for D.W. to eat in the Read family kitchen. Explore life under a microscope and enter a spelling bee in Mr. Ratburn’s classroom. Pick up a book from the Elwood City Library. Make a video in the Lakewood School Auditorium and watch as you appear on a giant television screen!

My kids and I loved watching ARTHUR’S WORLD on PBS TV. This exhibit was fun. My daughter danced to the Arthur theme song on the green screen and crawled in a tent while pretending to have a sleepover. She also enjoyed being a student in class and a librarian as well. She always said she wants to be a librarian when she grows up.

Arthur’s World is included with general LSC admission. Experience it May 26 – Sept. 16, 2018.

DINO DIG: At LSC’s popular outdoor fossil site, you’re invited to uncover massive dinosaur bones by digging through 35 tons of sand. Look for more than 60 fossils, many of them replicas of those discovered in Montana by Jack Horner, the famed paleontologist who inspired Jurassic Park. You might uncover T. rex bones and teeth, an egg nest with a baby Maiasaura, a 6-foot-long Triceratops skull, and even a dragonfly fossil!

June 30 – Sept. 3, 2018.

The exhibition may be closed during inclement weather.

Jennifer Chalsty Planetarium and LSC Giant Dome Theater To Worlds Beyond Journey Through The Solar System: you’ll tour the planets of our solar system – a tour that incorporates the latest information about the solar system as gathered by a fleet of robot probes. Travel from the hellacious surface of Venus, to the vast mountains and canyons of Mars, to the spewing methane geysers of Neptune’s giant moon Triton.

Before the film, a live presenter shows the audience where the planets are in the night sky that very evening.

This was amazing. Seeing the moon and Mercury, Jupiter, Saturn and Mars like that made me wonder who was teaching me this in school? If they showed it to me the way it was showed at LSU maybe I would have been more interested. Well one thing I know, we all were amazed. Definitely enjoyed this one.

Check their website for dates and showtimes. www. lsc.org

Show runs for 35 minutes.

There’s always something fun to do at LSC for all ages. And a hop, skip and jump from Manhattan. Check out all that awaits you.

GIVEAWAY: I’m giving away 2 tickets to check out LSC. Who wants to win?

Mandatory entry:

Must be following/signed up to my blog Five Little Words

Neil Patrick Harris, Jif Snacks & Comedy at Caroline’s on Broadway #JifPowerUps #AD

2 Jul

I was invited to an exclusive event with Neil Patrick Harris at Caroline’s on Broadway in NYC. It was a comedy event that playfully pokes fun of the daily power struggles between children and their parents (which we can all relate to). Neil introduced a new line of Jif snacks. Jif Power Ups granola bars and clusters.

I cried my eyes out so hard with the improv actors who acted out scenes of the struggles we go through as parents with our kids. I have 4 kids so I’ve been through it all. The entire audience was cracking up. From potty training to car rides and everything else in between all I could do besides laugh was shake and nod my head to agree with scene acted out.

Neil Patrick Harris was a great emcee. Of course I got a selfie with him. That’s what I do.

The food and drinks were great and even though I’m not a big fan of peanut butter but I will eat it if it’s mixed with chocolate or strawberries. I enjoyed the Jif Power Ups granola bars. So many flavors to choose from. Just throw them in your purse, pocket, lunch bag or car. They are great anytime. Which flavor will you and your family try?

Check out Jif on Instagram @jifbrand and @Jif on Twitter and Facebook.

Dryel At Home Dry Cleaner

15 Mar

Have you ever purchased the cutest blouse or the most amazing jacket or dress then got home and looked at the label and it says: DRY CLEAN ONLY. How did you feel? The first thing I say is “Maybe I can wash it on permanent press and pray it comes out perfect.” I also think of those dry cleaner prices and refuse to go unless I absolutely have no choice. Yes, some dry cleaners do a good job then there are those that just don’t and I’ve waisted my money and time.

There are certain clothes that I can get away with putting in the washing machine and the ones I can’t I hope not to get a grease stain or any type of mark on.

I was very excited to be a part of the 2018 Dryel Brand Ambassador Program. Having a product way better than a dry cleaner that’s affordable, convenient, gets the job done and I can have right in my apartment.

Let me introduce you to Dryel.

Dryel® uses a patented process to clean your dry clean only and special care clothes.

• The heat of your dryer activates the cleaning solution in the ULTRAcleaning Cloth™ to release a steam that removes body soils and odors from the clothes.

• The Fabric Protection Bag maintains the optimal balance of cleaning agents and heat, allowing the steam to work thoroughly through the clothes, and then slowly vents the vapors out of the bag and dryer.

• Dryel Booster Spray includes extra cleaning agents to remove stains, and add freshness to heavily soiled areas prior to putting the garments through the in-dryer system.

Dryel can be used in two ways: 1. Dryel quickly refreshes and renews clothes in just 15 minutes. This is a great way to remove odors and restore shape between trips to a professional dry cleaner. 2. In just 30 minutes, Dryel thoroughly cleans special care clothes. This means that you can skip a trip to a professional dry cleaner, and avoid harsh dry cleaning chemicals.

Some heat is needed to activate the ULTRAcleaning Cloth, but you don’t want to overexpose the clothes to high temperatures. For best results, use medium heat.

Do not use Dryel on leather, velvet, suede, fur, silk or rayon. Always test garments for colorfastness before use.

Dryel is available for purchase in retail stores throughout the United States, and in select stores in Canada. For more information about Dryel products and where to find them, visit http://dryel.com/.

Each Dryel Starter Kit (MSRP:$9.99)

I can’t wait to show you the results when I test out Dryel.

LG TwinWash At @BestBuy #ad @LGUS

8 Feb

Have you heard about LG’s TwinWash system at Best Buy? I’m very excited about this washer. Not only do these washers have mega capacity to tackle any size load, they are energy efficient efficient while giving you the beat cleaning performance. households have chosen LG laundry over any other brand!

I love doing laundry but I hate going to crowded laundromats. I’m there for at least two to theeee hours depending on how much laundry I have and how many people are there. There’s never enough machines and sometimes they don’t do a thorough clean so I have to clean the clothes twice. Very annoying. Don’t get me started on the dryers that take so many quarters to dry. It’s so convenient when you have the right machine. I can wash and still do other things. Plus I can save so much money and don’t have to deal with the public and waiting for machines to become available to just do half the job. I want full cleaning. I have two kids left in school, I work and my two older sons work so clothes need to be washed weekly. Also changing bed sheets and fresh washcloths and towels are a must. I know LG has my back when it comes to these loads.

With LG’s TwinWash system you get the best of both worlds. For small loads that can’t wait (The sweatpants after hot yoga, the red shirt in a pile of whites, the dirty school uniform on a Sunday night) there is the LG SideKick pedestal washer. You can even use it simultaneously while you do a bigger load up top on your LG Front load washer.

That’s definitely the kind of excitement I’m talking about. Here’s the link to shop and from 1/11-4/25 receive up to $500 off a LG laundry solution for your home. http://bby.me/m3qxa

Disclosure: I have been compensated in the form of a Best Buy Gift Card and/or received the product/service at a reduced price or for free. Opinions are mine 100% as always.

Finding The Perfect Family Car #spon

31 Jan

This is a sponsored post. Opinions are mine 100% as always.

What is the perfect family car? That depends on a lot. How big is your family? How much storage do you need? Is a mini van better than a SUV? Can I afford the one I really want? Safety, gas mileage, gps, Bluetooth enabled with my phone.

I’ve never purchased a car because living in NY with a car makes no sense. Of course my kids bug me about buying a car but it just ain’t gonna happen at least not now. I only drive when a car company loans me cars or when I rent cars. As much as I want to keep them I know the hassle of moving the car (alternate street parking), buying gas and having insurance will leave me working three jobs.

My ideal family car will be room for about 7. I love big cars (SUV’s, Jeeps) but would settle for a comfortable and safe wagon. I have a few in mind.  Test driving is a must and I’ve tested quite a few so that’s easy. Lots of leg room because my boys are tall. Love drive assist which is very handy on road trips. Drive assist reads the road and pulls you back into your lane if you drift without putting your blinker on. Would also love TVs for the kids but they would probably be on their phones, Nintendo switch and 3ds so if it’s not included I wouldn’t pay extra. I love having heated seats (winter) and of course air conditioning for the summer.

Yes we should all want a safe vehicle and driving should be fun and stress free but to some it isn’t so being alert and having a good night rest for those long trips are worth it. There are so many new features in cars now to help you stay focused and alert.

SUNDAY SKILLET FRITTATA WITH NELLIE’S EGGS & CABOT CHEESE #NelliesBrunch #AD

5 Sep

It’s nearly indisputable that Sunday brunch is the best meal of the week, and what is brunch without eggs?

Nellie’s Free Range Eggs come from the first Certified Humane farm in the country where the hens have as much, or as little, access to outside as they want.

Nellie’s Free Range Eggs and Cabot Creamery Co-operative Cheese asked me to come up with a brunch recipe using these two stellar brands.

We love eggs no matter what time of day. There’s so many ways eggs can be used. I must say I can’t have eggs without cheese unless I’m baking or making pancakes or waffles. We are cheese fanatics and you know cheese go great with lots of things.

The farm families that own Cabot Creamery Co-operative love what they do. And they’ve been doing it for a long time—every single day since 1919.

I love my eggs very cheesy, scrambled eggs, omelets, etc. For my brunch I decided to create a one pot frittata type of egg recipe.

SUNDAY SKILLET FRITTATA WITH NELLIE’S EGGS & CABOT CHEESE

INGREDIENTS:

Nellie’s Free Range Eggs 6 or 7 eggs depending on size of pan and amount of people you’re feeding. ( I fed 6 people)

**Cabot Cheese Legacy Collection Alpine Cheddar Cheese (you decide how much to put in) just cut up in pieces

**Cabot Cheese Gatlic and Herb Cheddar Cheese

**Cabot Cheese Seriously Sharp Premium Naturaly Aged Cheddar Cheese

**You can use whatever flavor cheese you want.

1 Red Bell Pepper chopped up

1 Orange Bell Pepper chopped up

2 Whole Tomatoes chopped up

2 whole onions

I used garlic powder, onion powder and salt & pepper.

PREP:

In my nonstick skillet I cracked 6 to 7 eggs. My daughter whisked them up. My veggies and cheese were already choppep. I added them inside the egg mixture with my seasonings and stirred it up.

My oven was already preheated to 350 degrees. (Check your oven for your right temperature). You don’t want the frittata to burn before it can cook all the way through.

Yes, skillets can go in the oven. I tried to avoid opening the oven too much because that slows down the cooking process. It took roughly 45 minutes to an hour. Cooked to perfection. It was well worth the wait. Everyone enjoyed it and I can say that will be a part of our breakfast/ brunch or dinner quite often. It can also be put on bread and made into a sandwich. My daughter did that.

Making Brushing Fun With #ACTKidsToothpaste

18 Jul

Disclosure: This post was sponsored by ACT Kids Toothpaste but all thoughts and opinions are my own.

I was always thankful that my parents made sure I brushed twice a day, took me and my sister to regular dental checkups and told us how important it is to take care of our teeth. Till this day I make sure to brush, floss, rinse and continue with my dental checkups.

With four kids of my own I made sure I did the same thing. I can honestly say it wasn’t easy. Sometimes they brushed twice a day and sometimes they didn’t. I did however make sure they see their dentist for checkups. Flossing was another hard thing but as they got older it was part of their routine. Cavities were minimal and lots of dentist visits there weren’t any cavities at all. That made me very happy. They all loved rinsing with a good mouthwash and brushing with a great tasting toothpaste and a toothbrush that gets the job done.

New ACT Kids Toothpaste is now available for kids ages 2 years and older in both bubble gum and fruit punch flavors. The ACT Kids Anticavity Rinse is for kids ages 6 years and older. You can find the new Kids Act Toothpaste in select Walmart, Walgreens and Target locations.

According to a recent survey, nearly 4 in 10 moms (35%) say getting their kid(s) to brush their teeth is one of their most frustrating daily battles, in line with convincing their kid(s) to eat their vegetables (38%) and putting their kid(s) to bed at night (40%).

This survey was sponsored by Sanofi Consumer Healthcare and conducted online using Toluna’s QuickSurveys methodology between February 13, 2017 and February 14, 2017 among 1,150 moms with children between the ages of 2 and 12 in the USA. Respondents for Toluna QuickSurveys are selected from among those who have agreed to participate in Toluna surveys.

I was asked to have a party and give out toothbrushes, toothpaste, timers and other cool things included in my party pack. We love having strong, healthy teeth and love using products to keep them that way.For more info about oral care check out this link: ACToralcare.com/act-for-kids
