I HAD A #GETTINGGORGEOUS FUN DAY WITH THE LADIES

When you hear the words Getting Gorgeous what comes to your mind? Well, for me I think of beauty, fun, friends, and lots of goodies. I get excited months in advance knowing that Vera and Audrey are working on a fabulous day for us bloggers to be spoiled and pampered. This year at the “Getting Gorgeous” event was just as fabulous as last years. You have to be there to know what I’m talking about. If you didn’t get a chance to attend I will share with you what I called a great day.

This year attendees got to be on the red carpet and be interviewed (pretend) by “Red Carpet Kids” an immersive event & experience company that allows children and adults the opportunity to step into the exciting world of being a celebrity. It was fun and they said I was a pro. I love the camera and paparazzi. Lol.

V05 treated the ladies to blow outs and hooked everyone up with shampoos, conditioners, hot oil treatments, mousse, hair spray and gel. Whatever you needed they had it all. You know I stocked up. It’s time for a hot oil treatment. I used the Silky Experiences Shea Cashmere and hubby said my hair smelled good. It was very soft and silky and it sure did smell good. I used it on my daughter’s hair too and she loved it. I also used the Perfect Hold Styling Mousse and the Anti Frizz & Shine Styling Cream. I loved the wash and mousse curly look. Got lots of compliments.

There were also foot massages and manicures for those who needed some pampering. I absolutely loved the manicure I received from Vanity Projects. They used Dior nail polish and I picked a gorgeous gray. That color and brand will be my favorite from now on. Don’t get me wrong I will try other colors but I am obsessed with that one. They also put a little bling on one of my nails.

Bali Intimates were giving bra fittings and showing their new line of bras and I must say that I was overdue for a fitting and found out I very been wearing the wrong size. How many of you know if you’re wearing the right size bra? I suggest you schedule a fitting as soon as possible. I loved all the bras they brought along and was able to choose one. The one I chose launches in July but it will be well worth the wait and in the right size might I add. I loved the texture, colors and styles. They were all comfortable. and didn’t dig in my shoulders, or fall off. Must start a new bra collection in my correct size with Bali Intimates. Thank you for the perfect bra Bali Intimates.

Vitabath is always a pleasure to find at any event I go to. They always create these new amazing flavors that get me hooked every time. Loved smelling all the body wash and lotions and seeing my favorites. New scents included Asian Orchid & Coconut. Also ladies stock up on the Bloom Beach Blossom Collection. There is also the new Sweet Vanilla Amber fragrance. Mini gift packs are available for camp, teachers, birthdays, college, etc. I used to have a favorite but there’s too many I like so I can’t choose just one. I enjoyed my Vitabath today.

Designer Imposters and Body Fantasies brought along fabulous body sprays in all flavors and Calgon products as well. I loved the Hawaiian Ginger body wash and body cream and can’t wait to try the Epsom salt. Body Fantasies have their Signature Body Fantasies Vanilla Body Spray which is definitely something I will be stocking up on. Designer Imposters got me hooked on their Viva La Juicy by Juicy Couture body spray. I can’t stop using it. I want to try them all.

Rexist360 is a power band where non-athletes/athletes can dramatically increases strength, speed and endurance. The band comedy’s in multiple grades with the ability to scale up and down while walking, running or training. It targets your abs, calves, glutes, lower back, hamstrings, quadriceps, hip flexors and hip adductors. I made sure I got one. I can even use it in the house when I’m doing different things.

Stop and Shop grocery store where you can shop online and have your groceries delivered to you. There’s a grilling contest going on now. It’s called. Master the Grill. They also have tours going on in their stores for the kids where they can learn about healthy eating. Check them out on Twitter.

Pampers products have been a favorite of mine since my first born in 1990. They came to Getting Gorgeous with their collection of Training Pants for boys and girls. If I could have carried more I would have for my cousin.

My second-born graduated from High School and we were all excited and proud to see him walk down that aisle after all his hard work and dedication. I want to thank him for sticking with it till the end. Some kids give up and it’s not as easy now as it was when I was in school. I graduated from high school, my oldest son graduated and I have two more to go. I love graduations, knowing that everyone is proud of you and you don’t have to go back to school. Of course there’s college for some, work for others, or traveling. Whatever it is you do just continue to shine and make your parents proud.

Fatherhood is the greatest responsibility and honor a man can have placed upon him. I never met my biological father, nor did I grow up with a male figure in my home. I didn’t grow up with money, a nice home or fancy clothes. In fact, I spent the majority of my childhood living in the projects or with family members. However, thanks to my mom, I had no shortage of love. Because of that I feel very strongly that love, faith, strength and courage are the most important elements of growing and learning at any stage of life. Now, as a father, I strive to demonstrate these in my home because the greatest lesson my kids have taught me is how to love people unconditionally.

Being a father has allowed me to keep things in perspective, for which I am extremely grateful. When a young fan asks for an autograph or picture or when I visit hospitals and schools, I always think, “What if these were my kids? What if my children were sick or didn’t have the resources to obtain a great education, live in a safe neighborhood or live a comfortable life?” I am very grateful when people go the extra mile for my kids, and I make it a point to always return that favor. Life as a WWE Superstar is hectic and stressful at times, but the ability to positively change lives on a daily basis motivates me to work hard. My kids could not care less if I win or lose a match or if I have a bad day at work. I’ve come to find not just my kids but WWE fans love and respect me regardless because beyond the lights, cameras and the action in the ring, they continue to see a real, genuine person. My philosophy with my kids is simple…I expect them to do their best and be the best people they can be and they expect the same of me.

To me, being a father is simple. I live for my kids, not through my kids. I’m not trying to force them into doing the things I did as a child in sports or extracurricular activities because they are who God made them to be. As their father, my job is to provide my children with the best positive guidance, motivation, discipline and resources possible to help them reach their greatness. I do this with plenty of love and try to be a living example instead of a telling example. I’ve learned kids respond more to what they see you do, as opposed what you tell them to do. I am their first role model, and I take that very seriously. They might not take the same path I did, but as long as they respect people, work hard, are positive about life and give their absolute best effort, I always will be proud of them.
To me, the most important part of being a father is being present. Kids really remember the moments and time you spend with them more than the things you buy them. The smallest moments make the biggest impact on a child’s life. I often am asked what I like most about being a father and my answer is always that I love everything about being a father – the challenges, the responsibility, the discipline, the laughter, the school functions…you name it, I love it. Father’s Day is really a special day, but for me, every day is Father’s Day because I get another day to enjoy all of the wonderful characteristics my two sons display. I also get to be part of a very great fraternity….FATHERHOOD! I am honored, humbled and proud to be a father.

LITTLEST PET SHOP SEASON 3 PREMIERE & NEW 2014 FALL LINE #LPSPremiere

My daughter and I headed down to Bryant Park Hotel for an exclusive premiere of Season 3 and a sneak peek at the upcoming Littlest Pet Shop Fall line. My son decided to sit this one out because it was a girl event he said.

Once inside we were greeted by all the new toys, clothes and accessories that were going to be available this Fall. We loved the playing with the toys and the sneakers, and backpack were a big hit. If you know my daughter she wanted it all. Lol.

After we checked out the collection we were given popcorn, water, cookies, goldfish and a banana to go enjoy a few episodes from the show that is airing June 7 and 21st on the Hub Network. The premiere episode aired May 31st at 9:30 a.m EST.

My daughter also took a picture with stuffed animal Penny who was seated in the theater for all the kids to take a photo with.

The episodes were great and my daughter has always been a fan. She makes sure not to miss an episode and plays with her toys everyday.

We enjoyed our mommy and daughter day with Hasbro and the Littlest Pet Shop.

LEARN HOW TO RIDE A BIKE WITH “JYROBIKE”

I’m excited to announce that Jyrobike, launched its Kickstarter campaign June 3, 2014.

Clunky training wheels that draw attention to new bike riders and pedal-less ‘balance bikes’ are a thing of the past. In addition, special needs experts believe that Jyrobike may be able to help individuals with cognitive disorders, attention deficit, and proprioceptive or balance challenges experience the joy of riding a bike as well.

The company hopes to raise an initial funding goal of $100,000 USD through Kickstarter for production expenses. My daughter and son are still trying to learn how to ride a bike. This bike would be perfect for them. There is also an adult version coming in 2015 and I would love to test it out. Can’t wait to see how fast my kids learn to ride with Jyrobike.

DINOSAURS HAVE TAKEN OVER SECAUCUS, NJ @jerseysaurus #giveaway

Did you know there are Dinosaurs living in Secaucus, NJ? Tell your family you’re on your way to see the 32 life-sized animatronic dinosaurs at Field Station Dinosaurs. This expedition of realistic dinosaurs is amazing. There’s even a 90 foot long Argentinosaurus (the largest animatronic dinosaur ever made) that comes to life thanks to roboticists.

My kids and I hopped on the NJ Transit from Penn Station which took only 9 minutes and a 10 minute walk from train. The adult ticket was only $8 round-trip and kids 11 and under are free on weekends which is when we went. I was happy. We met up with Denise from Boyz Rule Our World. We took our kids exploring with these creatures along the 3/4 mile trail. There are workshops, games and activities for the kids along the trail. They also get to dig for prehistoric fossils and dinosaur skeletons at the Fossil Dig Site. T-Rex showed up at the “Dino Whodunit” presentation and I could hear screams from the front. It looked so real even with the person feet underneath. They played a game with the audience and T-Rex was blind folded.

Kids and adults please wear sneakers and socks because sand and rocks will be traveling with you throughout the day. I wore the wrong shoe and paid for it. Lol.

Our ticket included a stop at the Commander’s Tent which is air conditioned and includes a 3D movie “Dinosaurs Alive.”This tent was beautifully decorated by IKEA and has books for the readers and we were greeted by a baby herbivore that the kids fed a bottle to. It was so cute, very affectionate and friendly. They also got to hold it. Now that I wouldn’t mind petting but those big ones no thank you.

The Lookout is gated off and you look over to see what’s lurking in the woods. I thought something was going to run up to us and let out a loud roar but it didn’t. I guess it’s there for your imagination to wonder what could be down there. (Smart)

After the kids saw every single dinosaur, and explored they were ready for lunch which was kindly provided to us bloggers. The weather was great and so was our adventure. We will definitely be going back and are thinking about “Dozin With Dinos Overnight Adventure.” This is a campout with the dinosaurs under the stars, lantern lit trail, s’mores, songs, campfire and other goodies. This takes place from August 2-23 from 7pm- 8am.

I’ve been doing laundry for years and my clothes, comforters, towels have yet to have a long lasting fresh smell till the next laundry day. I’ve had detergents that make my clothes smell good for that day but then that’s it. I want my clothes and towels to have that same smell for at least a week. I’ve recently discovered Snuggle Scent Boosters at an event I was invited to.

I never knew something so powerful with an amazing scent was the answer to my problems. Snuggle has always been my favorite bear in commercials. I always wanted one to squeeze and hold. When the commercial came on I would stop what I was doing and tune in. I was so excited when Snuggle bear paid us a visit at the event and talked to me. He’s so cute. He even let me take a selfie with him and we got a group shot. I also got to take home a Snuggle bear. Well, it might have taken me over 30 years to finally get a Snuggle bear but it was worth the wait. Let me be honest, my daughter took it over but we share. Lol.

So, I recently headed to my laundromat and took these amazing Scent Boosters with me along with the dryer sheets and tested hem out. First of all let me tell you how easy it was to use them. Just throw them in the drum of your machine then add the clothes. That’s it! Since I’m not used to having anything that works that easy when doing laundry sometimes I would forget to add the booster before the clothes and had to lift all my clothes to check. Then I finally got the hang of it.

The Scent Boosters come in Lavender Joy and Blue Iris Bliss. I like both scents. When my laundry was finished my clothes came out smelling very good and couldn’t wait to add more scent to it with the Snuggle Exhilaration Dryer Sheets in White Lavender & Sandalwood. When I got home with the laundry the kids couldn’t stop smelling the clothes, especially the sheets that went on the beds right away. These dryer sheets are phenomenal. My towels, clothes, & linen still smelled fresh a week later.

I gotta give credit to the scent sommelier. There are people who have the pleasure of coming up with these amazing scents so we can enjoy our laundry smell for more than a day. The sommelier explained how they created these scents and the training they have to do to become one. They have their work cut out for them and I’m glad they chose these scents. Their noses aren’t no joke. I told the sommelier my kids would probably love to do what she does because they have the gift of smells. They smell things I don’t even smell, or things that might take me longer to smell that they can pick up right away. She told me to have them apply. They will be the next generation sommeliers.
