April 24th @themoms had the invites of all invites. We were invited to the Red Carpet at the Ziegfeld Theater to meet cast members and celebrities for “The Amazing Spider-Man 2.” I along with 3 of my children were beyond excited and ready for lots of pictures and maybe an autograph or two. We were led to the bleachers once we received our VIP passes that allowed us on the Red Carpet. We also received our screening tickets to see the movie at the Sony Screening Room a few blocks away. Before the screening the kids had a pizza party and played Spider-Man video games. The swag bags they received were very, very nice. Also on the Red Carpet we received t- shirts, water, posters, cast members fans, and stickers.
It was a long afternoon/evening. We waited for celebrities to make it down to us after posing for pictures, talking to media, then waving, smiling, and hopefully running over for a picture with us. It was cold that day and I did manage to get a few pictures but I also had to make sure we made it on time to the Sony building for the movie and party so we stayed an hour and a half.
I wanted to get a picture of Jamie Foxx but I wasn’t able to wait for him. I did get a picture with him when he was filming Annie by my house, so I can’t say I never met him. His daughter had on makeup like his character “Electro” in the movie. She’s so cute. Speaking of Jamie’s character, we absolutely loved it. He did an excellent job playing the needy nerd. “Electro is just what this movie needed and I’m glad Jamie Foxx was a part of it. All the cast members did a great job. I didn’t see Emma Stone on the Red Carpet. I think she was running late. Andrew Garfield was there but not close enough for me to ask for a picture with him. I love how Andrew (Peter Parker) and Emma (Gwen) have that chemistry on the screen that makes you go “young love.” They connect and act very well together no wonder they are a couple off screen too. Dane DeHaan plays (Harry Osborn). I didn’t trust his character in the movie but he’s a good actor. I didn’t like the character he turned into which was gross looking but hey, “they can’t all be cute evil people.” Love Sally Field as “May Parker.” She always oblivious to what’s going on. You gotta love her, she’s a riot. I would love to see this movie again. Powerful, action packed, exciting. I won’t give away any juicy parts.
This movie opens in theaters May 2, 2014. Get tickets early. They will sell out.
Enjoy the pictures from the Red Carpet.
Do you recognize anyone?
Thank you to @themoms for the invite. My kids and I really enjoyed ourselves.
Disclosure: I was not compensated for this post. Opinions are mine as always. We received food, tickets, and swag bags.
