@Shortbread I’M SHARING X’s & O’s ACTIVITIES WITH MY SWEETHEARTS

2 Feb

Valentine’s Day this year will be all about the great recipes my kids and I have been creating. I’m glad it falls on a Saturday because we don’t have to worry about school the next day. I’ve been incorporating more recipes on my blog and I love when my kids get in the kitchen with me and give me ideas.

Walkers Shortbread of Scotland sent me a bag of their mini rounds and a bag of their mini fingers to come up with a fun activity of creating X’s and O’s as a gift for that special person in your life or as a treat. I love shortbread cookies. They melt in your mouth with that buttery taste. I don’t know if you would actually call this a recipe or activity but I did add to the cookies so I’ll say it can be a recipe/activity. How’s that?

This time my daughter and I came up with two fun activities using the X’s and O’s to give to each other and play a game with the next.

For the first activity we decorated a plate with two hearts made out of chocolate syrup and added sprinkles then put our rounds and mini fingers out of X’s and O’s to represent the love we have for each other and everyone in our family. This would be one of our gifts to everyone in the house to pass around. My daughter loved rolling the cookies in the sprinkles and chocolate syrup. She also created a cookie sandwich.

The next activity is out tic tac toe game using again chocolate syrup to make the tic tac toe and the mini rounds and mini fingers to make the X’s and O’s. We had fun with this one and yes, my daughter won, then I ate all the leftovers.

How fun are these? It took no time at all, easy clean up ( in your mouth). This can be done any day or month you like. I don’t wait for one day a year to show or tell my kids I love them but if you’re looking for cool activities/recipes for you and your kids this would be nice to try. X’s and O’s are so cool.

What I love about Walkers Shortbread cookies is the fact that they are a family owned company established in 1898 in Scotland. No GMO ingredients, no artificial flavors or colors, 100% vegetarian, , no animal fats, no hydrogenated fats, kosher, no artificial preservatives, no antibiotics or bovine growth hormones. Their classic shortbread is made from only flour, butter, sugar and salt. Love it!!!!!

We had a great time coming up with these fun things to do with your loved ones. Hope you get to try them out. Please check out Walkers Shortbread on their website: http://www.us.walkersshortbread.com and on Twitter @Shortbread

Disclosure: I received product to create these recipes/activities. Opinions are mine and my daughter 100% as always.

TAILGATING INDOORS WITH @Johnsonville BRAT CROCK TURKEY CHILI DOGS

1 Feb

Tailgating will be done at home this year. With the help of Johnsonville brats it gonna be a slow cooker fun time. Instead of getting up early and prepping to feed my large family my slow cooker will come in handy. This Brat Crock recipe will be calling your name.

I was asked by Johnsonville to come up with my creation of a Brat Crock tailgater’s paradise indoors. My recipe is so easy you will be done way before the game starts. This will leave you time to make side dishes, desserts, and play bartender. The most important one is you will have time to actually sit down with family and friends and watch the game. I think crock pots are the best thing ever invented. I can go out and come back and the house is smelling amazing. I don’t have to worry about anything because of how long I programmed the slow cooker. It automatically turns to warm after it finish cooking.

My family and I have been a fan of Johnsonville for years and I love coming up with recipes. So whose ready for a touchdown Johnsonville brat crock recipe?

What you’ll need:
*1 large slow cooker
*Johnsonville Brats ( I used beef and beer brats)
*3-4 cans (12 ounces) beer ( I used 1 (24 ounce) can
*1 medium yellow or white onion, sliced into rings ( I used lots of onions & a red onion as well)
*1 large green pepper
*1 large red pepper
*2 (15 oz.) cans turkey chili with beans
*Jalapeños to top
*Mustard
*Potato rolls

What to do:
*Pour in the beer, add butter, peppers, onions and turn slow cooker on high
*Heat a grill pan or heavy skillet to medium high and grill or sear the brats on all sides until fully cooked when internal temperature reaches 160F.
*Add your Johnsonville Brats to the slow cooker and heat till brats are cooked about 2 hours.
*Reduce heat to low to keep the brats hot throughout the game.
*Heat chili as instructed on can
*Open a potato roll, add brats and onion mixture then top with chili, jalapeños and mustard.
*Enjoy!!

I had two so far. Maybe going back for thirds. I have to save room for dessert too. I had fun creating this brat crock recipe.
Please let me know what you think of my recipe and if you make the recipe for your friends and family let me know how you like it.

Disclosure: I was compensated for this post with a gift card to buy groceries and coupons for the brats. As always opinions are mine 100%.

@Breyers GELATO INDULGENCES INTRODUCES NEW FLAVORS & MY VALENTINE’S DAY RECIPE

28 Jan

No matter what the season I always make sure to have ice cream in the freezer for me and the kids to enjoy. Breyers has always been a favorite of ours. Now even more with Breyers Gelato Indulgences our freezer is beyond stocked. There’s so many flavors to choose from like: Vanilla Caramel, Raspberry Cheesecake, Tiramisu and Triple Chocolate. If you think those are tempting there’s even more deliciousness. Breyers introduced Mint Chocolate in stores now. Wait, hold for it….. three more Breyers Gelato Indulgences in March to tempt your tummies with flavors like: Strawberry Truffle, Cappuccino and Chocolate Caramel. Okay can someone call Breyers and tell them to send me free coupons for life? These flavors are right up our alley. There’s so much you can create with these.

My kids and I love making ice cream sundaes, milkshakes or root beer floats. But you don’t have to stop there. I’ve seen hot chocolate with ice cream and even waffles. With Breyers Gelato you can do the same thing. My kids and I recently tried the Mint Chocolate and came up with a recipe for us to enjoy on Valentine’s Day.

We started with pound cake, Slice a piece of cake, cut a hole in middle, add Breyers Gelato Mint Chocolate in hole, add chocolate syrup, marshmallows and sprinkles whatever your color choice. You can also add whip cream and a cherry on top if you like. It was soooo good we had to have seconds. I love when my kids get creative and see what ideas they come up with when we work together in the kitchen.

Valentine’s Day doesn’t have to be once a year and eating ice cream or gelato doesn’t have to be eaten once a year so enjoy it with the people you love. I’m ready to try the new flavors in March as well. I’m also ready for my kids and I to come up with more fun recipes.

Check out Breyers website for more info: http://www.breyers.com and on Twitter: @Breyers

Which flavor are you excited about trying? Do you have a favorite already?

Disclosure: I was not compensated for this post. Coupons were given for review of product. These opinions are mine 100% as always.

NEW HOLIDAY BRUNCH RECIPE: MINI EGG OMELETS STUFFED WITH @Johnsonville SAUSAGE

22 Dec

It is always fun when I get to create new recipes for my family and friends. My family enjoys being the testers and my kids love helping me out in the kitchen. My kids want to be chefs and I encourage them to get messy and have fun in the kitchen. I’ve never written down any recipes I’ve created because I have it all up top, but for Johnsonville I made an exception.

When Johnsonville asked me to create a holiday brunch recipe I was very excited to participate. We all know how hectic holidays are especially when you have to do the shopping, prepping, cooking, serving and cleaning. I like to make fast, easy dishes that tastes great. I also like a meal that I can prep at least a day ahead.

I decided to use Johnsonville Maple Brown Sugar and Honey breakfast sausage for this recipe. Those flavors together are amazing and I knew I could create something that not only looked great on your plate but tasted even better.

What I like about my easy recipe is you can eat it anytime of the day. The 12 that I made was gone in one day. I’ve made this before but I kicked it up a notch with Johnsonville breakfast sausage and a few more veggies.

My dish is called: Mini Egg Omelets stuffed with Johnsonville Sausage

Yield: 12 mini omelets
Level: Easy

Ingredients:
12 cup muffin pan
1 package of Johnsonville maple brown sugar and honey breakfast sausage (after cooking chopped)
6 to10 large eggs (more or less whatever fills up all 12 cups)
1 tomato chopped
1 green pepper chopped
1 yellow onion chopped
Sharp cheddar cheese grated or chopped (as much as you want)
Cooking spray
Pinch of salt
Black pepper

Directions:
Pre- heat oven to 300 to 350 depending on your oven.
Crack eggs in mixing bowl, beat, add chopped veggies, salt, pepper and cheese put to side.
Spray frying pan and heat. Once hot add Johnsonville sausage and fry till done.
When sausage cools chop and add a few pieces to each cup in sprayed muffin pan.
Next, add egg mixture over sausage. I used a glass measuring cup to pour mixture in muffin pan which was easy for me. If your mixing bowl has a spout then use that.
Bake in oven for 15-20 minutes. Let cool then pop out of pan and enjoy!!

I also served hash browns made in the muffin pan too, coffee and egg challah rolls. We enjoyed this dish and my kids loved the breakfast sausages so much they keep asking for them. They are addictive. Try all the flavors.

How easy is that? Let me know what you think. Did you add anything else? Did you make 24 mini instead of the 12? Did your family enjoy?
You can also check out http://www.johnsonville.com for more recipes.

Disclosure: Johnsonville I am always grateful for creating a new dish for you. Johnsonville provided me with a gift card and coupons to bring you this recipe.

I’M FALLING FOR THE NEW MENU AT OLIVE GARDEN #OGTastes #OliveGarden

24 Sep

As fans of Olive Garden hubby and I always make sure we visit a few times a month. He requested to go for his birthday this month and as always we have a great time enjoying our favorites.

When I found out there was going to be a lunch menu tasting for the media I immediately signed up. I met with other bloggers at the Times Square location in NYC and we sampled 10 courses in an hour. Can I just say I came hungry and left stuffed in a good way.

Earlier this year, Olive Garden unveiled the most significant menu evolution in the restaurant’s history, including more than 20 new menu items that broaden the choice, variety and value it offers guests, prepared with new cooking techniques that accentuate new flavors. Olive Garden’s new menu is designed to appeal to the evolving palettes and preferences of casual dining guests, while providing guests with more options to customize their meal experience at both lunch and dinner.

• Risotto Bites (“Small Plates”) – Bite-sized blend of Italian cheeses and rice, lightly fried and served in marinara sauce.

• Polenta Shrimp alla Greca (“Small Plates”) – Sautéed shrimp served on creamy polenta and topped with a fresh blend of olives, capers and tomato sauce.

• Spicy Calabrian Wings (appetizer) – Chicken wings tossed with garlic and chili peppers from the Italian region of Calabria, served with gorgonzola dipping sauce. Available for a limited time.

• Roasted Tomato Caprese Salad Topper – Fresh mozzarella bites, roasted tomato, bell pepper, basil, kale and an extra-virgin olive oil drizzle.

• Smashed Chicken Meatball Sandwich – Smashed chicken meatballs with roasted bell peppers and mozzarella on a focaccia bun.

• Bucatini with Spicy Three Meat Sauce and Meatballs – Served as part of Never Ending Pasta Bowl. Starting Sept. 22 through Nov. 9, guests can enjoy a variety of more than 150 pasta combinations, plus homemade soup or garden fresh salad and fresh baked garlic breadsticks – all unlimited and starting at just $9.99. Learn more and see additional combinations here.

• Chicken Abruzzi (Olive Garden Specialty, Lighter Italian Fare [under 575 calories]) – Grilled chicken breast in a savory broth simmered with cannellini beans, kale and garden vegetables.

• Grilled Chicken with Butternut Squash Alfredo Fettuccine – Grilled chicken breasts served on a bed of fettuccine tossed with creamy roasted butternut squash alfredo and fresh spinach. Available as part of the fall menu and for a limited time only.

• Pappardelle Pescatore (Olive Garden Specialty) – Sautéed shrimp, bay scallops and clams tossed with pappardelle pasta, fresh asparagus and tomatoes in a creamy red pepper seafood sauce.

• Pumpkin Cheesecake – A seasonal favorite, this is a pumpkin cheesecake topped with whipped cream, caramel sauce and ginger cookie crumbles. Available for a limited time only.

My favorites were the Spicy Calabrian Wings. If you read the description above you see why. I am a spice fanatic and these are off the hook. Just the right spice (for me) you can be the judge. I really hope these stay on the menu forever. Even though they are an appetizer I enjoyed them as an entree with a salad and breadsticks I would be happy. Please Olive Garden keep these Spicy Calabrian Wings.

Polenta Shrimp was another one of my favorites. Everyone that knows me knows shrimp is my number one favorite seafood. I enjoyed this dish very much. The combo of the capers, olives and tomato sauce was very very good.

Smashed Chicken Meatball Sandwich was melting in my mouth. It tasted like a chicken parmigiana sandwich. The roasted peppers and mozzarella cheese really complimented that sandwich.

Bucatini with Spicy Three Meat Sauce and Meatballs. (Mama Mia) This entree had me going back for thirds. Yes thirds. I loved it. Once again anything spicy as long as I can taste the heat is a plus in my recipe book. This is part of the never ending pasta bowl so I will be back before it ends Nov 9. My birthday is in October so it’s all good.

Who goes to a restaurant and not order dessert? Well if you ate everything I mentioned above you would have ordered dessert to go but at least you have it for a midnight snack. This is where the Pumpkin Cheesecake comes in. Yes this is seasonal so I can’t ask Olive Garden to keep it on the menu forever unless I’m the one donating pumpkins year-round and doing the baking. Lol. I tried. I enjoyed my cheesecake very much and maybe for my birthday I can get a whole pumpkin cheesecake. (Wink, wink). Delicioso!!!

New Dinner Menu Highlights:

· Fall Flavors: Celebrate the flavors of fall with Olive Garden’s brand-new Grilled Chicken Butternut Squash Alfredo Fettuccine and the return of guest-favorite, Pumpkin Cheesecake.

· Small Plates: Expanding the Tastes of Italy section to include eight small plate dishes for guests who want to explore different flavors.

· Antipasti and Caprese Salads: Creating new ways for guests to enjoy Olive Garden’s popular signature salad through the addition of antipasti or caprese toppings.

· Lighter Italian Fare: Enhancing variety within the under-575-calories menu section by introducing additional dishes for calorie-counting guests.

· Specialty Entrees: Bringing new culinary-forward entrees to the chicken and seafood sections of the menu, enhanced by preparation on a new Piastra flat-top grill for a more evenly cooked, tender and juicy taste.

I had a wonderful time stuffing my face and learning about the new fall flavors and under 575 calories menu. The manager and servers were friendly and always made sure we had something on our plates and in our glasses. I also won a $25 gift card for participating in a social media contest while at the restaurant. My birthday meal is looking pretty good thanks to Olive Garden.

Disclosure: I wasn’t compensated for this post. Opinions are always mine 100%. I received lunch, a t- shirt and won a gift card.

MY KIDS #POWERUP WITH DANIMALS SUPERSTARS GREEK LOWFAT YOGURT

25 Apr

Dannon recently launched the new Danimals SuperStars Greek Lowfat Yogurt. My kids, cousin, and I were excited to attend the launch and try out their new product. I’ve always loved yogurt and my kids eat nonfat yogurt. The Greek lowfat yogurt would be something new for them to try. There a variety of flavors to try and my kids seemed to have liked the Cotton Candy flavor the most. I liked the Strawberry Slide.

Dr. Tanya R. Altmann talked to the group about nutrition. She said kids need 15-25 grams of protein a day, depending on their age. Adults need 50 grams. Kids also need 3 servings of dairy products a day. With this Greek yogurt you can make a smoothie, dip, milkshake, or substitute the cream cheese on a bagel with the yogurt. Physical activity is important and should be 1 hr a day for kids. Sports is great for learning to interact with other people, following instructions, and getting along with other people. Role modeling healthy habits is important because whatever you do kids will follow.

Growing up I remember my father telling me I couldn’t get up from the table till I finished everything on my plate. Was he being a good parent for saying that? Was he really concerned about me eating healthy, or did the thought of me wasting food something he didn’t approve of? Well I can honestly say the food he was feeding me was not that healthy, and I think he used to say “there are kids starving out here so don’t waste your food.” Don’t get me wrong it wasn’t junk food he was giving me. It was more like steak and potatoes, Spanish dishes, flan for dessert, an occasional octopus which I’m pretty sure I told my mom I’m not eating that. Lol.

What I’m trying to say is in the present now that I have kids and have learned what’s good and not good for my kids, I wouldn’t give them anything I wouldn’t eat. I don’t think my parents were reading labels on products back in the 70’s. If they only knew what chemicals were going into our bodies I’m sure they would have not fed it to us.

When I go into the grocery stores the first thing I look for on labels is “high fructose corn syrup.” If it doesn’t contain that or any artificial flavors and I think it can benefit my kids I will get it. If I knew what soda had in it I wouldn’t have drunk it when I was growing up. I gave it up years ago and it is banned from our house.

My kids are very active at school and after. There’s not a day that goes by when they are running, jumping, playing, or just singing. They love outdoor activities, and I love taking them on adventures. We like to explore and find new things to do. I make sure that my kids are fed a healthy breakfast that would keep them satisfied till lunch. Every kid is different when it comes to food. My daughter loves her fruits, my son loves his eggs, and waffles, my other son likes breakfast sandwiches, and my oldest will grab coffee and eat when he gets to work.

Danimals SuperStars Greek Lowfat Yogurts can help provide kids with the nutrition they need. Each cup is a good source of calcium and Vitamin D, which help build strong bones, along with an excellent source of protein (25 percent of the Daily Value). Also, similar to other Danimals products, Danimals SuperStars has no artificial colors or flavors and no high fructose corn syrup.

Each cup of Danimals SuperStars will help fuel even more than young bodies. With educational and Power Up fun facts found under the lid of each cup, Danimals is helping stimulate children’s minds as well!

Danimals SuperStars is available in 4oz 4-count packs in five delicious flavors made specifically for kids, including: Strawberry Slide, Strawberry Banana Sprint, Cotton Candy Thrill, Mixed Berry Half-Pipe and Cherry Rush.

In addition to playing outdoors on a regular basis, it’s important for kids to eat well and get the right balance of foods in their diet, such as dairy, which includes nutrients like calcium. Kids can get calcium from products such as Danimals Greek lowfat yogurts, nonfat yogurts and dairy smoothies.

Danimals dairy products make snacking fun – they taste great. Kids will love Powering Up with Danimals SuperStars, experiencing the burst of fruity flavor in Danimals Smoothies, and mixing fun toppings from Crunchers into delicious nonfat yogurt. All Danimals products contain a good source of Calcium and Vitamin D, which help kids build strong bones and regulate muscle function. The 2010 Dietary Guidelines for Americans identify calcium as a nutrient of concern for American adults and children, and recommend increasing intake of foods that provide it.

We enjoyed the day with Dannon and trying the new flavors. I will be buying my kids their favorite flavors and I will stashing a few for myself as well.

HEALTHY CHOICES MY FAMILY AND I MAKE WITH WELCH’S @Welchs @TheLicensingCo #Welchs

9 Dec

As a mom of 4 I’m sure there are plenty parents out there who wish they didn’t have picky eaters. I try to cook healthy for my kids and make sure they get their daily dosage of vegetables, & fruit, and leave out the junk food. Sometimes I have to sneak vegetables in their food either by pureeing or just put it on their plate and say eat those veggies first. I DO NOT allow anything with HIGH FRUCTOSE CORN SYRUP in my house and that’s the main reason we gave up sodas and a lot of junk food. It can also be hidden in foods you would never even think. I read all labels and if it takes me an extra 20 minutes in the supermarket then it’s worth it for my family. Fruits aren’t that big of a problem in my house. My kids choices range from grapes, tangerines, apples, bananas so I’m glad they all can agree on that. I think my kids drink more than they eat. I go through so many drinks sometimes I have to stock up in the food warehouse stores so I have plenty. We love juices that are 100% like Welch’s Grape Juice, 100% White Grape Juice, and 100% White Grape Peach Juice just to name a few.

Welch’s Jams, Jellies, and Spreads have been a regular in our home for years. What kid doesn’t love a good peanut butter and jelly sandwich? Fast to make and a great snack. What parent doesn’t appreciate that?

Now Welch’s has another great snack which are their 100% Juice Ice Bars. What is a plus for me is No High Fructose Corn syrup and No Artificial Flavors. Three flavors- Grape, White Grape with Cherry Flavor, and White Grape with Tropical Flavor. I tasted these great juice ice bars at an event I attended and I was very happy and my kids were as well when I let them try. I will keep my freezer stocked with these handy bars for the kids to grab whenever they like.

Another Welch’s product I tried were the frozen fruits. These frozen fruits were made into a smoothie in no time. I was very impressed how it tasted so fresh as if I went to the farmer’s market that day and hand picked the fruit. You can’t tell they are frozen at all once you make your smoothie. There are different varieties to choose from like, Wild Blueberry, Mangoes, Mango Medley, Four Berry Mix, Antioxidant Fruit Blend, Strawberries Banana Mix, Raspberries, and Strawberries. I have no problem using these in my pancakes, in a glass of Welch’s Sparkling Cocktails, or right out of the bag. They are sold in re-sealable bags that lock in the fresh taste. Prices range from $3.49-$4.79 depending upon retailer margin and variety. Only 50-70 calories/serving. Naturally sweet- no added sugar.

Facts about Welch’s 100% Grape Juice:

Welch’s 100% a Grape Juice helps support a healthy heart , thanks to the dark purple Concord grape.
Is made with Concord grapes picked at their peak and grown in North America by Welch’s family farmers.
Is a convenient way to incorporate more purple fruit into a healthy diet. As a complement to whole fruit, each 4-oz. glass counts as one serving (1/2 cup) of fruit.
Uses the entire Concord grape- skin, seeds and all – to release natural plant nutrients (polyphenols)
straight from the grape. More than 20 Concord grapes are squeezed into each 4-oz glass.
Delivers an excellent source of the antioxidant vitamin C in each 4 -oz glass.
Is made with no added sugar, color, or flavor. It’s 100% juice!

Natures Touch Frozen Foods is the manufacturer of Welch’s Frozen Fruit. For more info check out their website http://www.naturestouch.ca/

The Perez Family @KidFreshFoods Super Duper Chicken Nuggets Review #SuperDuperKids

28 Aug

My New Year’s Resolution this year was to stop giving my family and myself included processed foods and cook more from scratch. With so many words I can’t even pronounce, nor know the meaning of in these packaged foods I just thought I was going to lose my mind. Anything that begins with sugar, or high fructose it stays on the shelve. If I want something nutritious and healthy for my kids it has to say 100% all natural. That’s where Kidfresh comes in. They put up a post on Twitter asking bloggers if they would like to review their healthy kids meals with hidden veggies. I quickly signed up with no hesitation. I’ve seen celebrities, and chefs purée veggies into brownies, lasagna, and different types of meats and I used to purée food at my job. I always said I’m going to purée veggies in my kids food but never got around to it. Everyone has picky eaters in their families and if we don’t start them early they will always say “that’s nasty.” Vegetables are very important and it would be nice if everyone ate them or at least had one favorite one they enjoyed. To those that don’t eat them you probably are and don’t even know it.

Kidfresh came up with these Super Duper Chicken Nuggets that has hidden veggies in them like cauliflower and onions. How many kids can you say absolutely loves onions? Maybe onion rings. Cauliflower maybe. I’ve seen kids go crazy when used on a veggie platter with ranch dip.

There are no artificial flavors or preservatives. All natural. 40% less sodium, and 73% less trans fat than the leading brand. Made with white meat chicken, and whole grain breading. The ingredients are simple, nutritious, and to the point. They also have a variety of meals that my kids are Definitley going to try next like: Easy Cheesy Ravioli, Muy Cheesy Quesadillas, and Spaghetti Loos & Meat Sauce just to name a few. These products are available nationwide in over 5,000 stores. Kidfresh.com/find-a-store
Suggested retail price is $3.49-$3.99
Follow them on Twitter @KidfreshFoods

The same day I received the chicken nuggets my kids were ready to taste them. I made them for lunch. I baked them for about 12-14 minutes in the oven and they came out nice and crispy. I had to try one first because I would know right away if my kids would like them or not. They were very delicious I wanted to eat all of them. You couldn’t even tell veggies were in them. I started with my son who is 10 yrs old and I have to force him to eat vegetables. He took a bite and said “its just another nugget.” He did eat it though. My daughter however who is 6 yrs old was very impressed and wanted to eat them all like her mother. She said “let’s go buy more.” She’s been putting ketchup on all of her nuggets lately so she dipped them in ketchup and ate about 6 nuggets. I even gave my 17 yr old one to taste. No comment from him. Lol.

These cooked up fast and came in handy especially with everyone’s busy schedule. I will purchase these Super Duper Chicken Nuggets again as well as the other products.
I was not compensated for this post but I was given the product to test and a few goodies in a gift bag. I was also given coupons for a giveaway which you can click on the link below to enter. These are my opinions and they are 100% genuine.
Enjoy the pictures!

The Bomboloni (What Is A Bomboloni You Ask?)

19 Jul

What is the first word that comes to mind when you hear Bomboloni? The first word that came to my mind was amazing!! What is a Bomboloni you ask? It is an Italian light pastry filled to capacity with fresh creme or fruit. There are more than 20 flavors to choose from creme brûlée to blood orange, and even nutella. I tried the vanilla cream and espresso. They are all natural and no preservatives.

At just $2 each you will want to try a variety of flavors so they have 4 for $7 or 6 for $10.
They also sell natural Italian gelato and sorbetti. The flavors change daily but when I went they had watermelon and a few other flavors available. I will try the gelato the next time.

I also had an iced coffee which they sell along with espresso’s and lattes.
I first heard about Bomboloni from the Cooking Channel and wanted to see what it was all about and I’m glad I did. These are great for picnics, bbq’s, to bring to work, whatever occasion. I know I’ve walked past this place a million times and never knew what I was missing.

They are located at 187 Columbus Avenue between 68th & 69th street NY, NY 10023 (212) 877-3080
Check their website for hours http://www.bomboloni.com/cafe.html
These opinions are 100% my own. I was not compensated for this post.

FROZEN YOGURT THAT IS OFF THE WALL!! @OTWyogurt

11 Jul

Want to know where to get 16 different flavors of frozen yogurt with 40 rotating toppings? Well look no further because New York has it and it’s called “Off The Wall Yogurt”. There are 3 locations currently and another one coming soon to Times Square. There is also one location in Long Island where it all started.

I had the pleasure of being invited to the 4 west 14th street location for a bloggers networking event where I got to sample some amazing flavors and toppings and meet other bloggers.
The first thing I noticed when I walked into this location is how incredibly big it is. I’ve never seen any yogurt shop this big before. This is a great spot for teens to meet up, to have meetings, or rent for a party. Another thing I liked were the awesome colors. Very bright with the slogan “Today Is A Good Day” on one of the walls where a lot of pictures have been taken and will continue on. There is also a screen on the wall when you tweet it will pop up on the wall when it is retweeted, so we all were waiting for our tweets to appear. That was fun!!

So now I will tell you what my favorite yogurt flavors were. My top 3 flavors were the Macadamia Cookie, Cake Batter, and Belgian Chocolate. They are to die for. If I worked in this place I would be in trouble because I would constantly be sampling. I mixed all 3 and topped it with chocolate sprinkles, walnuts, and chocolate syrup.

Everything is self served so you get to go crazy and pile it on or make it sweet and simple. The yogurts are either low fat or non fat and I even saw a high protein Greek Pomberry yogurt. There’s also a Watermelon Splash and Valencia Orange that you should try as well. The toppings range from different types of cereals for the kids, to fresh fruits, granola, and a variety of nuts, and chocolates. There is a wall with toppings built in and a handle you pull down to add the toppings onto your yogurt. Kids will love this!

The cups are one size and there is also a waffle cone in a cup if you choose that. Everything is weighed and that tells you what your price will be. They also sell cold drinks, s’mores, and coffee hot or iced.

I want to thank Phil Velez for the invite into his amazing frozen yogurt shop and I will be returning with my kids.
I encourage those who love yogurt and want to try these amazing flavors and toppings to get down to Off The Wall yogurt as soon as you can. You can find all the locations on their website http://www.offthewallyogurt.com
Theses opinions are my very own and I was compensated with free yogurt and refreshments for the duration of the event.
Enjoy the pictures!!
