#NewTucson 2016 Hyundai Midsize Crossover

7 Aug

Hyundai hosted a special launch in NYC August 5th for its recently redesigned midsize crossover vehicle, the 2016 Tucson. This was the first time journalists had the opportunity to test drive the vehicle before the model hits dealer showrooms across America later this month.

Crossovers are one of the top selling vehicles and Hyundai has re-invented the popular segment by adding industry first features into the Tucson.

We met at The Park in Chelsea with breakfast , presentation then we got to test drive The Sport through a scenic route up the Palisades Interstate Parkway, through the Harriman State Park and back to The Park for lunch.

Our Tucson’s were across the street from The Park in the garage. Our first stop was the Rockefeller lookout which absolutely amazing. That is a great spot. Next we were off to Lake Kanawauke. When we arrived we traded our Sport for the Limited Edition.

I just have to say I really loved the way the Tucson drove. The blind spot detection with rear-cross traffic alert is always good to have as well as the rear parking sensors and automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection.

The ventilated front seats kept me cool so that got two thumbs up. The rear seats have adjustable recline which my kids will love. Hands free smart power liftgate with auto open and heigh setting. Just wait three seconds and your trunk will automatically open. There’s also a dual- level cargo floor. Improved road noise isolation which I appreciated very much. Premium 19″ alloy wheels.

The Limited Edition was my favorite. Leather seats, and huge sun roof was just some of the interior features.

The prominent hexagonal-shaped grille, stylishly efficient LED low-beam headlights and LED Daytime Running Lights are presented below a sculpted hood.

The standard integrated Bluetooth hands-free phone system with voice recognition lets you take calls and stream audio, without taking your hands off the wheel. There’s also a standard 5-inch color touchscreen audio system and rearview camera. At the top of the tech wish list is the 8-inch color touchscreen navigation system with a rearview camera, and NavTraffic which provides real-time road conditions that’ll help you avoid traffic jams and give a clear picture of alternative routes. Also if you have an Apple Watch it is compatible with it using Hyundai’s blue link system.

The Tucson SE 2.0L 4-cylinder engine gets up to an EPA-estimated 31 MPG Highway. The Eco, Sport and Limited’s 1.6 Turbo GDI engine steps up the horsepower to 175 and can still deliver up to an EPA-estimated 33 MPG Highway. Both engines were designed to give you the optimal balance of horsepower and MPG.

Tucson SE from $22,700

Tucson ECO from $24,150

Tucson Sport from $26,150

Tucson Limited from $29,900

Comes in beautiful colors like Caribbean Blue, Sedona Sunset, Ruby Wine, Chromium Silver, Coliseum Grey, Mojave Sand, Winter White and Ash Black. I loved all the colors but my top 3 were Caribbean Blue, Sedona Sunset and Chromium Silver.

I’m ready to take this baby on a road trip or an adventure with the family. Hope to bring you more pictures.

What color and features do you like?

Dana was the most popular doll of the afternoon which is who my daughter picked. Of course she would also love to collect them all. Once inside the kids took their dolls to the accessories station to collect new outfits, shoes, hair clips, etc. there was a photo booth with backdrops of Italy, canolli making table, arts and craft and the lunch and dessert was so delicious.

Here’s what Toys R Us had to say:

Toys“R”Us® announced that it is celebrating the fifth anniversary of its award-winning*, private label Journey Girls® brand with an updated collection of artfully crafted fashions and highly detailed accessories. Beginning this September, customers will find their favorite dolls outfitted in styles perfect for their next Journey Girls adventure, an Italian excursion, in stores nationwide and online at Toysrus.com/JourneyGirls. The company designed this quality 18-inch doll line in 2010 as an affordable option – at $39.99 – for doll enthusiasts and collectors of all ages. What began as a collection of four dolls and complementary fashions, has expanded to a selection of seven dolls, hundreds of mix-and-match clothing options and dozens of must-have accessories. In the five years since the brand’s inception, Journey Girls characters have gone on worldwide adventures spanning 20,000 miles around the globe, from London to Paris and now Italy, adding to their individual and collective backstory.

Additionally, to celebrate the gal-pals’ fifth anniversary trip to Italy, the company is encouraging parents and kids to share their Journey Girls experiences with @ToysRUs on Instagram and Twitter, as well as Facebook.com/Toysrus. Fans are invited to post photos of themselves and their dolls traveling the country – or even the globe – as well as engage with one another and Toys“R”Us using #JourneyGirls. We had a fabulous time and even the boys came and supported Journey Girls. It was a fun day that will always be remembered. My daughter plays with her doll everyday and can’t wait to get her some siblings. Maybe one day we can visit Italy.

BATMAN THE RIDE BACKWARDS AT SIX FLAGS, GREAT ADVENTURE

19 Jul

Six Flags Great Adventure in Jackson, NJ is our favorite amusement park. We were invited to the Press/VIP event July 7th to experience the Batman The Ride Backwards rollercoaster. I’ve always loved the Batman rollercoaster and when I found out it was going backwards I knew I was going to enjoy it even more. Joining us was Lt. Governor Kim Guadagno and the Dynamic Duo Batman and Robin. I even got my mother on the ride with me. When I told her I was staying on to go again she said she would sit that one out. Lol. Don’t get me wrong, she loves rollercoasters but wanted to space them out. If my two oldest sons were there they would have went on again with me. It was amazing! No lines, media went on first and I could have rode on it all day.

After the event ended we stayed at the park and got on more rides. My mother, sister and my two younger kids enjoyed the day. There’s so much to do and it was such a beautiful day. We stuffed our faces with delicious food,  kept cool with drinks and unlimited refills, found shaded areas and covered the whole park. My daughter took pictures with cartoon characters including Batman and Robin. Skull Mountain, Superman, Green Lantern, El Diablo, Great American Road Race and Buccaneer are just a few of our favorites. Can’t forget Bugs Bunny National Park, Bumper Cars, Skyway, Tea Cups, Carousel, and many more kid rides.

You know I never leave without getting the famous Funnel Cake for everyone. We stayed till a little after 8pm and will be returning again this year. My family can’t stop talking about the fun we had. It’s always a pleasure when we spend the day with Six Flags Great Adventure.

Six Flags Great Adventure, the world’s largest theme park, unveils a second thrilling roller coaster experience for 2015 as it flips one of its most innovative and adrenaline-charged coasters backwards for a limited time.

BATMAN™: The Ride becomes even more intense as it undergoes a gravity-defying role reversal from July 4th weekend to Labor Day weekend. Guests can dare to take on an all-new experience on the world-famous suspended, looping coaster when its chair lift-style train is flipped 180 degrees on the track.

BATMAN™: The Ride Backwards Fast Facts:

Soar backwards, chair-lift style (beneath the track)

50-mph juggernaut

Five gut-wrenching inversions guests never see coming

2,700 feet of twisted track

Since opening in 1993, BATMAN™: The Ride has given more than 27 million thrilling rides and reigns as one of the most popular roller coasters in the world.

CABANA COVE GRILL BLOG-B-Q AT HUURICANE HARBOR, SIX FLAGS

30 Jun

The last day of school for NYC kids was June 26 which was also a half-day. Were my kids going to miss out on anything? No, not really because they said goodbye to their classmates and teachers the day before knowing they were going to have an awesome time at Six Flags, Hurricane Harbor Water Park. Who wouldn’t want to hang out in a water park for the day? So their summer vacation started a day early and they were happy.

Six Flags, Hurricane Harbor is located in Jackson, NJ. We were invited to celebrate the Grand Opening of their new Cabana Cove Grill and test out their delicious food with a Blog-B-Q. From jerk chicken sandwiches , salads, Tri-tip steak sandwiches, fruit salad, hot dogs, brownies, cookies, cotton candy, drinks and the best part we were given a Cabana for the day. The food was amazing and we received souvenir cups for free drink refills all day. The Cabana boys kept serving us delicious mango or strawberry-banana smoothies. Those were very good. Our Cabana kept us cool with fan and a refrigerator for our food and drinks a table, chairs and a couch. Outside our Cabana we had two lounge chairs.

We were steps away from the Wave Pool and Cabana Cove Grill. There is also more lounge chairs around the wave pool and benches with umbrellas at the Grill. This was our first time at Hurricane Harbor but we are regulars at Six Flags, Great Adventure. Everyone was so polite and catered to our every need. We didn’t need lockers because our things were safe in our Cabanas that were guarded while we walked around park. We also were given wrist bands for the day. One of those were proof you belong in the Cabana area.

After lunch we headed to the Wave Pool (Blue Lagoon). Little did we know they have safety drills every 45 minutes that lasts for 15 minutes. We though someone was really drowning until a worker told us the real deal. We were glad it wasn’t a real person in trouble and I was glad to see they take their jobs seriously and practice these safety drills.

Once our blogger friends came we went exploring and took the kids to the lazy pool (Taak It Eez Ee Creek) and a few water slides in the park like: King Cobra and Boreas. There were no lines we got back on as much as we liked. I enjoyed all the rides as much as my kids. I love amusement parks and every summer that’s on everyone’s agenda.

All of our kids kept calling the Cabanas their homes. I thought that was cute. The day turned out to be great without rain. I love seeing my kids enjoying themselves and just being kids. This was for them and I will continue to keep them smiling. We will definitely return hopefully with another Cabana and amazing food. You know we couldn’t leave without getting Funnel Cake and Churros. Our favorites.

We enjoyed ourselves and recommend everyone to come check out Hurricane Harbor water rides, the New Cabana Cove Grill and rent a Cabana while you’re there. Visit their website: https://www.sixflags.com for more info. Follow on Twitter: @sixflags

PART 3 FAMILY VACATION CRUISE ON NORWEGIAN BREAKAWAY (BAHAMAS)

30 Jun

Here is the last post of my 7-day cruise to the Bahamas on the Norwegian Breakaway.

Day 5 (Nassau Bahamas) Partly Cloudy 75 Sunrise 6:53 a.m. Sunset 7:29 p.m.

This is what we were waiting for. I’ve always dreamed of going to the Bahamas and finally made it. There is lots to do for your shore excursions. Make sure you plan these things in advance so when you get to your destination all you have to do is get transportation to take you there. Tours include Atlantis Resort tours such as: Discover Atlantis, Atlantis Aquaventure, Atlantis Dolphin Interaction & Beach Day, Aquaventure & Walking with Sharks. There’s also Blue Lagoon Tours such as: Blue Lagoon Dolphin Swim, Sea Lion Encounter and Dolphin Encounter. You also can explore the Ardastra Zoo & Garden, Seaworld Explorer, Glass Bottom Boat and Paradise Island & Sightseeing.

Next time we will check out a few excursions. We wanted to explore the island on our own. We walked around the town, took pictures, shopped and found a Dunkin Donuts (lol). We didn’t want to go too far away from the ship. We went to the famous Straw Market and did shopping as well. It was a bright, sunny, warm day. The locals are friendly and as soon as you get off the boat they ready to grab you and take you around in their taxis. We of course chose to walk. We had a great day in town and can’t wait to visit again.

On the ship activities were still going on. There was a Thriller Dance Class, Name that Beatles Tune, Rock of Ages show, Deal or No Deal, Awesome 80’s Party and a Breakaway Fireworks Display. I loved the fireworks. I tried the keep the kids up for that but they were tired. My youngest son popped up to see a few then fell back into bed. I thought I had video but I guess I didn’t save it. It was loud and very nice as if it was the 4th of July.

Day 6 (Sea Day) Mostly Sunny 73 degrees Sunrise: 6:46 a.m. Sunset 7:29 p.m.

Now that we are headed back to New York we get to finish exploring this big ship and do things we probably didn’t get to do. We had fun with the Giant Chess Play, Aqua Park, Sports Court and Splash Academy. There was a great Ice Carving Demonstartion and also a Basketball and Soccer Tournament. The Towel Folding Demonstartion was very nice. My daughter was able to see how the staff prepared her amazing towel pets that she received every night on her bed. We visited Carlos Bake Shop and Dolce Gelato and ordered goodies. O’ Sheehan’s also has milkshakes and ice cream sundaes you can order for a small price.

The Charm Bracelet event was packed with women wanting those charms. The Hot Dog eating contest was crazy. The Family Friendly Feud Game Show was fun. There was a Family Pizza Making class. The Breakaway Celebrity Dance off was a hit with everyone. We enjoyed that very much. Tango Dance classes were available and a Family Cake Decorating Class inspired by TLC’s Baking with the Cake Boss. Teppanyaki & Sushi Demonstration was great!

Broadway Star Kate Shindle performed a musical and theater show and was available for a meet and greet after.

Dinner at O’Sheehan’s featured BBQ Spare Ribs. We went to the Garden Cafe for dinner.

Day 7 (Sea Day) Cloudy 64 degrees Sunrise: 6:34 a.m. Sunset 7:29 p.m.

This would be our last full day on the Breakaway. We were sad but we wasn’t going to let that get us down. We enjoyed every minute. After breakfast the activities begun. Rockettes Stretch Class, Fitness Dance Class, Napkin Folding with staff, Shuffleboard Tournament, Fruit & Veggie Carving Demo.

Afternoon activities included: Samba class, International Crew Talent Show we very very good. The staff is very talented. My kids and I enjoyed this show. Basketball Challenge, Hip Hop Dance Class that my daughter rocked and participated in. The instructor was very nice and even met my daughter after so they could dance together. That was so sweet of her. My daughter enjoyed that class. Meet & Greet with Nickelodeon, Studio portraits were available to purchase. The kids wanted the video arcade, splash academy, sports court and aqua park every day. Can you blame them?

The evening was full of things to do like Family Cupckae Making, Breakaway Karaoke Idol 2015, Super Shopper Raffle, Perfect Couple Game Show, Farewell Party with the DJ. My kids stayed at Spalsh Academy till about 10pm. Hey wanted their last night to be fun. They refused to go to bed early (lol).

For dinner we chose Mexican at the Garden Cafe.

The next morning we arrived back home in New York. The skylines looked amazing early in the morning. Even though we were already missing our vacation we were glad to be back safe and sound. There are definitley more cruises in our future.

I hope you enjoyed reading about our fabulous vacation on the wonderful Norewegian Breakaway. If you need any questions answered ask away or leave comments. Check out Norwegian on Twitter: @CruiseNorwegian

Disclosure: I won this 7-day cruise from @themoms. Opinions are mine and my kids 100% as always.

SoFabUOTR NYC Recap

29 Jun

I was was provided a free ticket to attend SoFabU on the Road by Collective Bias, Inc. All opinions are mine alone. #SoFabUOTR #CollectiveBias

I woke up around 2 a.m. Saturday morning beyond excited to get my day started with SofabUOTR. I was so happy I didn’t have far to travel being a few stops away from We Work at the Bryant Park location. I had about an hour to spare so I sat in the lobby and met attendees on their way in. As we made our way up the stairs there was a table full of cute lunch totes filled with goodies. I found a table and the breakfast found me. Fresh fruit, bagels, pastries, muffins, coffee, juice, etc.

After the Sofab introduction and review from Debba Haupert (Senior Manager, Education & Development Sofab University & SofabU on The Road) the first panel discussion of the day was “How to excel with Sponsored Posts.” Kim Janoko (Senior Director of Community), Kristin Wheeler (Senior Manager Community Programming & Engagement), Diane Nassey (Social Party Coordinator), & Dania Santana (Community Coordinator, Colectiva Latina) led this discussion. I appreciated this topic a lot. Who doesn’t want sponsored posts? Whatever I need to do to increase my sponsored posts I’m all ears. There was so much great information told.

There were a few favorite tips by Monica Pruitt on Landing a Campaign.

*Share awesome existing content. When applying for a new campaign make sure to share links for similar posts.

*Photos are extremely important. Make sure to take courses on Sofab University to increase your skills and expertise on photography.

* Create content that is going to bring traffic to your blog.

*Network. Make sure you join the Facebook group for Social Fabric.

*Bes ure to visit Sofab University regularly and take classes to improve your skills.

Next up, Phil Hollows (CEO,FeedBlitz) Growing your Influence, Traffic, and Making Money with Email Marketing. A few of my favorites from the slides he showed.

Jessica Woodbury (dontmindthemess.com) discussed How to Use SEO to Supercharge Your Posts. With SEO there are more blogger opportunities, more traffic and new readers. Make sure your blog is mobile friendly. Think beyond keywords, organic content, higher word count sends stronger signals (700 + words). Check spam score in Moz. (https://moz.com/researchtools/ose/) Having a 4 or less spam score is great! I have a 2. I’m very happy. Loved all these tips.

After break and a delicious lunch provided by Panera we continued with Part 2 of How to Use SEO to Supercharge Your Posts.

Ice cream from Graeters was sooo delicious. get ready NY they are coming. Muller Yogurt was very creamy and delicious. So many choices to choose from. Kind bars were on all the tables for a quick healthy snack. Noble Juice naturally pure juices came in amazing flavors like Apple Mandarin Chai, Tangerine Ginger Pomeganate, Honeybell Blueberry and Royal Mandarin Greens juice. They also provided cute lunch bags with goodies inside. IBlog Magazine, Coty, Kraft and Liberty Science Center were also sponsors. We also participated in contests.

Josh Hicks from Mitsubishi (Drive Shop) taught us Video Tips, Tricks & Tools. Before he started his presentation he went Oprah on us and gave everyone a selfie stick. That made my day.

One of my favorite tips: Storyboard. Make a visual plan of the shot list. This will help you get all the shots you need and streamline editing. A little extra time here will save hours later.

We divided into groups and headed outside for an Afternoon Education Adventure with NYC Photo Safari. I chose the food group because I wanted to get extra tips on how to work the camera on my food photos. We started at the NYPL on 42nd and 5th Avenue then worked our way over to Penn Station and from there we met everyone at the Strand Hotel for Happy Hour. Once again, I learned so much how to take pics in certain light, up close, and tricks with the filters on the iPhone. I don’t own a DSLR but hope to one day. Happy Hour was great with SoFab attendees, food, drinks, gifts and socializing.

It turned out to be a great day andthese tips will come in handy and be put to good use. I can’t wait for the next one. Slides provided by Debba Haupert.

Rides, Food, Boardwalk Fun Day at Coney Island with Family

22 May

When it comes to Amusement Parks I am a big kid who loves the rides, especially roller coasters. When my family and I were invited to Coney Island (Luna Park) for Family Blogger Day May 2nd I immediately said YES!!! My kids love rides as well and since most amusement parks are further away or not open this was so close in Brooklyn, NY. My BFF Denise was happy to drive me and my kids with her and her son.

It was chilly that day but we were wrapped up and got there early. We walked the Boardwalk until everyone arrived. After meeting up with more of our blogger buddies we checked in at B&B Carousell and had breakfast provided by Luna Park and learned about all the fun Coney Island has to offer. The Carousel was the first ride the kids rode on then staff took everyone to Luna Park and the People’s Playground.

Of course the kids were the first to get on the new rides while the parents stood by and took pics. One of the new rides is called Rocking Tug. The kids loved it! They rode a few before the park opened at noon. We were VIP so our wristbands didn’t activate till 12 so they jumped on a few rides before that. The wristbands are unlimited for 4 hours and that’s what I purchase when at Coney Island and only $35. Kiddie Area wristband for $20 or a Ride and Play 4-hr unlimited wristband with 20 credit game card for $45. All these deals are great. From roller coasters (Cyclone), to Deno Wonder Wheel, Bumper Cars, all the kids and parents had a great time!! There’s something for everyone.

Who goes to Coney Island without eating at Nathan’s Famous Hot Dogs? Well we all ate there for lunch. Hot dogs, burgers, fries, lobster sandwiches, soft shell crab sandwiches were all being devoured. It’s a must have. There are two different ones. One is located on the Boardwalk and the original on Surf Ave. The original one sells kid meals and comes with a toy. 1310 Surf Avenue. There’s other great places to eat in the neighborhood like Applebee’s, Rita’s Italian Ice, Famiglia Pizzeria and Grimaldi’s to name a few. Later this summer Wahlburgers franchise will be the newest addition to Coney Island. Definitley don’t forget Nathan’s Famous Hot Dog eating contest for the 4th of July.

Lots of events are coming up too. Coney Island Circus Sideshow, Deno’s Wonder Wheel 95th Birthday Seaon, 5th Annual Pet Day at Deno’s Wonder Wheel, Sunday Karaoke on the Boardwalk, School’s Out Celebration, etc. For a full schedule of events check out http://www.coneyislandfunguide.com because these events are happening this week until September 2015. You can also view directions to the park, attractions and where to eat and shop. Don’t forget to check out the Brooklyn Cyclones at MCU Park a few steps away. The games are affordable and they have a special on Wednesday. Any seat for $10. How great is that? Opening Day is June 20. They also have t-shirt giveaways, Star Wars night, kids run the bases, fireworks and more. Check out their website: http://www.brooklyncyclones.com for tickets and schedule.

The beach is another way to cool down and have fun. Bring your blanket, swimsuit, and umbrella and just enjoy the water and sand. The beach officially opens May 23rd just in time for Memorial Day weekend from 10am-6pm daily through September 7.

We had a great time and can’t wait to go back this summer. Thank you to Alliance for Coney Island.

Disclosure: I was not compensated for this post. I was invited to this event for bloggers and given gift bag. Opinions like always are mine 100%.

MOTHER’S DAY AT BELMONT PARK VIP STYLE #ABRMomsDayAtBelmont

12 May

This year I celebrated Mother’s Day at Belmont Park. America’s Best Racing invited mommy bloggers and their families to a VIP fun filled day with food, drinks, racing and activities.

My kids and I were very excited to go to Belmont. This was our first time. We took the LIRR train and once there was escorted to the private area where there are picnic tables with umbrellas, grills and a front row to see the horses up close when they’re racing.

Food was great! Everything from sandwiches, bagels, burgers, hotdogs, salads, desserts, and drinks.

I didn’t wear a fancy hat but my kids and did dress up. Everyone looked nice.

My son and I learned how to pick horses by their name, number or how many wins they have, the jockey, his weight, his age, etc, etc. My first bet of the day I won some money. However, I’m still not a millionaire. I will be one day. All the kids had their favorites and were calling out the numbers that they wanted to win.

We took a tour of the Paddock. That’s where the horses, jockeys, trainers and owners meet. The horses were calm walking around by their trainer getting a little exercise . The owners stood around waiting to meet with the jockeys. The jockeys were very friendly and even stopped and spoke with our kids and took pictures. After a hope you win wish from the kids the jockeys got on their horses and headed to the track.

In the back of Belmont near the Paddock is a park for the kids. We didn’t get a chance to go but my kids saw it and we will go back and visit next time.

Dan Tordjman and Victoria Garofalo Brand Ambassadors for Team ABR Live were just the sweetest. They made everyone feel welcomed, conversated with all and told us everything about Belmont Park. It’s as if we knew each other for years. I want to thank both of them for inviting us so we could experience this. It was a great add-on to my Mother’s Day.

MOMTRENDS TRAVEL TRENDS 2015 EVENT RECAP

12 May

Momtrends held their Travel Trends 2015 event at We Work Lounge down on 25 Broadway, NYC. I appreciate when an event includes great travel trends and brands come out and represent. Now that I’m finally taking my family on long overdue vacations and getaways I need to know what I should pack in my suitcase, where to travel, what to wear and great deals.

I love New York Family Magazine and was very happy to see Editor, Eric Messenger. He spoke to us about travel and even though I’ve never been to the Poconos I think I really need to get there. He said there is an indoor water park coming called Aqautopia.

Nicole Feliciano mentioned how she waisted no time getting a passport for her first born daughter. My two oldest kids had the pleasure of having passports but I have to get the two younger ones theirs. We recently went to the Bahamas on a cruise and my kids were able to use birth certificates. My son and I had enhanced driver’s and non-driver’s licenses. My passport expired last year. I need to get to it and get everyone passports. That will push me even more to explore the world with my family. I really appreciated Nicole and Eric’s tips.

I was ready to go camping when I saw this adorable bear-print tent from Sprout. I don’t know if I want bears on my tent especially when I wake up in the morning and it’s staring at me. Lol. But it was different. I absolutely loved the faux s’mores station. It looked so yummy. The comfy sleeping bag was from Land of Nod. My kids need this in their lives. I wanted to jump right in. You can’t go camping without the protective bug repellant. Guardian bug repellent showed us why they’re the leading brand for campers. A repellent that can protect my family and I against mosquitoes and ticks is a keeper. My kids would love all of these to take to camp or just have a backyard camp under the stars night. We’ve also camped in Central Park with the Rangers. That was fun.

My suitcase definitely would have been lighter if I knew about Yamis and Dawni about a month before my vacation. I salute these women. Only 8 pieces of chic, versatile separates creating over 50 different possibilities. They also have an accessory collection to style all of your looks. When they showed us how a skirt can turn into a dress or a shawl can turn into a skirt I was beyond amazed. My mouth literally dropped open. The material and colors are wonderful. I need Yamis and Dawni as part of my wardrobe. I want all the colors. This would save me so much time and expense buying separate pieces.

When I’m headed to the beach or pool I make sure to have my Miraclesuit or Magicsuit swimwear on. It promises to make you look 10 lbs. lighter in 10 seconds and that’s not a lie. There’s so many styles to choose from. A few bloggers modeled a few suits from the collection. There is something for everyone. I saw quite a few new pieces I must have.

Did someone say CHOCOLATE? Bark Thins were calling my name all night. These dark chocolate treats come in a variety of deliciousness. I immediately was drawn to the dark chocolate toasted coconut with almonds. I also tried the dark chocolate almond with sea salt. These snacks are great for on the go, and road trips. I snacked on my way home then when I got home the kids took the rest.

We couldn’t have a Momtrends event without raffles. I won a set of Acure Organics body products. Peppermint, Tropical Citrus and Fragrance Free body soap that also could be used for other things. I’ve been using the peppermint soap which I always make sure to have peppermint soap in the house. These are great. Can’t wait to try the tropical citrus next.

PART 2 OF OUR NORWEGIAN BREAKAWAY CRUISE FAMILY VACATION

3 May

Are you ready for Days 3, and 4 of our first Norwegian Breakaway Cruise family vacation?

Dear Diary:

Day 3 (Port Canavera, Florida) (Cocoa Beach) Partly Cloudy, 73 Sunrise: 7:01 a.m. Sunset: 7:44 p.m.

We were to arrive in Florida at 12:00 but were a little behind schedule but it was still good. After breakfast those who wanted to leave for shore had to get in line and head through a passageway with I.D’s (freestyle card) in hand which led us to a table letting you know to get to the beach you will have to take a bus. Adults $12.99 roundtrip and kids $6.99 roundtrip. You could use your freestyle card to pay for this. Once we arrived at the location which was a drop off for buses and tourist type of store to purchase clothes, accessories, etc. A back door led us to Cocoa Beach about a block or two away. My daughter was excited because she wanted to play in the water and sand. She did collect seashells with her brother too. I got my feet wet but didn’t dive in. My boys were busy making phone calls home since we finally had connection. That was fine but they didn’t want to get in the water. It was all beach. No places to eat, no restrooms, just sun, sand and water. If you decide to get off the boat for Cocoa Beach just be prepared. Have drinks, food, towels, sunscreen, hats, and whatever else will keep you occupied. The sand was very hot. If you booked other excursions then you should have time for those and the beach. Next time we will either stay on the boat, or book an excursion. We still enjoyed our day.

For those who remain on the boat there’s still things to do like:

Basketball Free Throw Contest, Sudoku Challenge, Rock Wall Climbing, Aqua Park, Nintendo Wii U Sport, Body Sculpt Boot Camp, Bingo, 70’s Music Trivia with Cruise Staff, Scavenger Hunt, Family Arts & Craft, Ping Pong Tournament, Ropes Course, Party Line Dance Class, and Family Karaoke Extravaganza.

Those returning to ship by 8:00 p.m. enjoyed:

Entourage Dodgeball, Spring Break Family Party, The Not So Newlywed Game, 70’s Disco Groove Party, Super Shopper Raffle, Citizen Watch Event, Late Night Party and Paradise Lottery Draw which takes place every night.

Country Western food was being served in the Garden Cafe for dinner or you could have Chicken at O’Sheehan’s. We decided to try Shanghai’s another complimentary restaurant. The food was amazing!!  Spring rolls, noodles, fried rice, dumplings, etc. The line gets long for this small restaurant so get on line early like we did. They open 5:30 for dinner .

Day 4 (Great Stirrup Cay, Bahamas) Sunny 79 Sunrise: 6:54 a.m. Sunset 7:31 p.m.

Today we arrived at10:00 a.m. to the Bahamas.  Those going ashore were led to the Breakaway Theater on Norwegian and sat till our rows were called and taken in groups by a Tender (boat) to Norwegian’s private 250 acre island Great Stirrup Cay. We were all anxious to get on the boat and head over. It’s so beautiful when you arrive. It truly is like paradise. My daughter and I headed to the water and the boys hung out together taking in other activities. We met for lunch and enjoyed the rest of the day together. There was lots to do. Besides complimentary BBQ all day there was a *40-foot high Hippo Water Slide,* Snorkel Center, *Massage Cabanas, *Beach Yoga, *Kayak Tour, *Wave Runner, *Parasailing, *Stingray & Snorkel Rental and *Eco Boat Adventure. ( *Fee will be billed to your on-board stateroom) Free things to do were Splash Academy, Family Limbo Competition, Family Water Games, Family Tug-O-War, Family Dodgeball, Beach Volleyball, Ping-Pong, Swimming with the tropical fishes, just relaxing and having fun (priceless). For those looking for frozen specialty drinks, cocktails, beer and soda you had the Patron Bar, BoBoLink Beach Bar and Lighthouse Beach Bar. The complimentary island BBQ lunch was served at Jumbey Beach Grill, Bertram’s Bar and Bacardi Bar. There’s lockers, beach chairs, first aid, restrooms and wheelchairs. If you bring towels from the ship you must return it to ship. They highly recommend sandals/water shoes to prevent stepping on rocks or coral covered by sand. Upon returning on the Tender there are water jets to clean your feet. Last Tender to return to ship was at 5:30 p.m.

Back on the ship fun activities: Mini Golf, Shuffleboard, Soccer Tournament, Movie: (Dolphin Tale 2), Ring Toss Challenge, Rock of Ages (musical), Movie: (Mama Mia), Movie Clip Trivia, Girls Night Out, Glow Party, and Piano Entertainment.

A Taste of Asia (oriental) was the dinner special in the Garden Cafe and O’Sheehan’s had Prime Rib.

Today was a great day!!

Disclosure: I was not compensated for this post. I won this 7-day cruise from @themoms. Opinions are mine and my children 100% as always. Enjoy the pics!!
