30 OctWhenever Momtrends throws their Moms Night Out events I already know I’m in for a great night with friends and amazing brands. This year the event was held at 225 Liberty Street. I love that area which is full of shops, restaurants and great views of the water.
As I walked in the first station I approached I was able to create my own perfume courtesy of Parents and Parents Latina. There were so many yummy flavors to choose from. I made mine with Jasmine, Bitter Orange and Grapefruit to name a few. Smells amazing and I’ve gotten lots of compliments.
The next station was Baby Dove. I’ve been using Dove products for decades and if you smell the Baby Dove Tip to Toe wash you’ll want to wash up in it too. Sorry babies, mommy might keep this one for herself. Lol.

After stuffing my face with Sushi, Spring Rolls, Chicken Tenders, Veggies, Dessert and Drinks I headed to the last station.
Station number four taught me how to make spooky snacks/treats courtesy of Parents and Parents Latina. I’ve always loved Parents Magazine so I was excited they were in attendance and even more excited to make these easy, fun snacks to take back home and show my kids how simple it is. I enjoyed making the Spider. I used a chocolate donut, pretzel sticks for the legs, sprinkles and stuck on eyes. The Monster Skewers was also fun to make. Just use skewers, marshmallows, cantaloupe, kiwi, put peanut butter so the eyes can stick to the marshmallow and an edible ink pen to draw the face.

Hubby and I attended a screening of Meet The Addams and it was an absolute dreadful, dark movie. Translation: It was a riot. We loved it 100%. If you didn’t realize I’m describing the movie as if I’m one of the Addams expressing my feelings. We love animated movies as much as the kids. There were lots of funny scenes and it reminded me of the original Addams Family I used to watch on television. I’m still laughing.
I was always a Wednesday fan and it’s funny now how I’m constantly wearing black but for work of course (haha).
Lurch was another favorite and wait till you see what he’s bringing to the big screen. You’ll be amazed. Can Morticia’s waist get any smaller? I mean what’s the name of the corset or spanx you’re wearing? Hook a girl up. Lol. I have to say I did miss Gomez kissing Morticia’s arm the way he did in the tv show but of course he’s still crazy about his wife.
Believe it or not I wouldn’t mind having The Addams Family as neighbors. Wait, I better be careful what I wish for. In the movie they really are closer than you think. So technically they are my neighbors. Lol. You’ll see when you check out the movie.
The soundtrack had me dancing and singing in my seat from Snoop Dogg to Christina Aguilera. Her new song “Haunted Heart “was catchy. I could recognize her voice anywhere.
Fun cast line up includes: Charlize Theron, Snoop Dogg, Bette Midler, Martin Short, Jennifer Lewis and so on.
So of course I have to see it again because my kids want to see it and once they read this post or see my pics on Instagram they will realize we went without them. Sorry. But we really enjoyed it so we don’t mind. They deserve to see it anyway. They’ve waited patiently.

CURVYcon is a 3 day event for curvy women that was recently held in NY. I attended all 3 days and had the best time.
I received an email from Fresh Produce Clothing Company. I read about their sponsorship with the CURVYcon and saw they would be present at the event so I reached out after checking their website and kindly pitched to them. I said I’ll be attending and would love to wear some of your pieces to the event. After a few days they got back to me and agreed to send me clothing and a special partnership was formed. I couldn’t wait to receive my clothes.
The day finally came and I received 2 dresses, a jacket, t shirt, Capri pants and jewelry. I loved everything.
I wore the Christa dress in color Shadow from Fresh Produce on the second day of the CURVYcon because the first day was a workout welcoming party and I had to wear workout gear. With my dress I wore my pink CURVYcon varsity jacket and pink sneakers. I was so comfortable and stylish and received lots of comments. There’s a pick me up hem on the left side of the dress which is perfect because I’m 5″4 and it wasn’t too long.
The last day of the CURVYcon I wore my “Salty” tee shirt and necklace provided by Fresh Produce with white jeans, plaid shirt tied around my waist, a denim jacket and white & gold slip ons. Another winner. The tee shirt was so soft a little big so I just twisted it into a back knot. I loved how the necklace complimented the shirt.
The one thing women worry about the most when attending any type of event, conference, party is what to wear. I was going crazy trying to figure out what I was going to wear for over a month. The weather also plays a big part in that as well.
I was also able to rock the Pinstripe Mika Dress in black sent to me from Fresh Produce Clothing to a fashion show. This dress has what I loved the most which was elbow length sleeves. The a-line fit was another plus. It had a cute twist on the back of the dress and the fabric was amazing.
It was great meeting Fresh Produce Clothing in person at the CURVYcon. They were wonderful and loved how I wore the clothes they sent me. I saw so much more that I want to wear.

8 AugI’m a big fan of Essentia Water and Ezinma hip-hop violinist “Classical Bae”. I was very excited when I got the chance to interview Ezi.
In May, Essentia announced a partnership with the Ezi who also stars the brand’s first national, multiplatform advertising campaign – It Might As Well Be You.
The campaign’s message is personal, empowering and demonstrates what Essentia and its core consumers’ value – the power of resilience. With that, Essentia moved to collaborate with Ezi – her drive and dedication to her art is inspiring, empowering and relatable.
Here’s my interview with Ezinma:
How did you start your collaboration with Essentia?- I have been a fan of Essentia for a very long time. Not too long ago, I learned that Essentia would be launching a new campaign focused on overachievement, It Might As Well Be You is a campaign that encourages people everywhere to get up, get out and go do that thing that they want to do. The concept really resonated with me because in the pursuit of my passion, I have put in a lot of hard work and dedication to be able to go after my dreams. I was excited to partner with Essentia to encourage others on their own journeys of dedication and resilience.
- How does Essentia play a part in your career?
- I am a big fan of self-care and my schedule can often become very busy. Whether I’m practicing at home, in the studio working on my album, working out or on-set filming a project, hydration is part of my self-care and self-care is one aspect of my daily life that allows me to continue my journey towards fulfilling my passion and reaching success. Overall, when I feel good, I perform better, and knowing that I can hydrate better with Essentia plays a huge part in me being able to perform at my best.
- What led you to start playing violin? Who encouraged you to start?
- I was drawn to the violin from a very early age. It’s incredible, but I first picked up the violin when I was only three-years old. My father is Guyanese and my mother is German-American. I was fortunate to have their rich cultural and ethnic backgrounds influence my musical upbringing and that really helped mold me into the versatile artist that I’ve become today. Classics like Bach, Beethoven, and Mozart, as well as artists like Bill Monroe, Bob Marley, Van Morrison, Billie Holiday, and Earth Wind and Fire were influential in my musical development and continue to inspire me today.
- How many times a day/week do you practice?
- I try to practice everyday. If I have an early morning call for a shoot or I’m traveling, it can be tough! I’m always looking to improve my craft, even if I don’t have my violin with me. For example, I strengthen my fingers with rubberbands—that helps keep my fingers strong when I don’t get to put in work on my instrument. Other than that, I try my best to play and practice everyday and I even take lessons from my violin coach once a month!
- Would you ever consider giving lessons to young kids?
- I actually used to teach a lot. I love working with children and my biggest motivation is inspiring kids to play an instrument. A big part of my musical mission is visibility. As a person of color in the classical space, it is so easy to feel like you don’t belong. I want to show that classical music is not only “cool” but it is also accessible for everyone.

#PrettyWomanTheMusical Review
15 JunPretty Woman The Musical on Broadway. What can I say? I’m pretty sure you’ve seen the original movie like I have. Hubby and I did a date night and we absolutely loved it. The vocals on the leads were incredible. Andy Karl had that rockstar voice and Samantha Barks had some soulful pipes on her. We loved everyone’s vocals. My hands hurt from clapping so much. Each scene had me wanting more and remembering the movie. The opera scene was beautiful.
Tommy Bracco the bellhop did his thing dancing and making us laugh. The hotel manager Eric Anderson played plenty of characters and sung his ass off. Orfeh who played Kit Deluca was amazing. Did you know her real life husband is Andy Karl?
The entire cast did a phenomenal job and I would love to go back and see it again.
Love is a beautiful thing and you never know where you’re gonna meet your partner. Your prince and princess or king and queen is out there somewhere.
I met the love of my life at work. You never know who’s paying attention to you and could possibly be your future husband or wife.
I just want to give a shoutout to everyone who works on Broadway. I’ve been to a lot of Broadway plays and it takes a lot of work from all team members to make it happen. Lot of sweat and tees and long hours.
