Mother’s Day Movie Review In Theater’s Now! #SITCcelebratesMothersDay

Since today is Mother’s Day I’m sure you already have plans of what you’re going to do. Just in case you don’t may I suggest you head to the movies and see Mother’s Day with stars Kate Hudson, Julia Roberts, Jennifer Aniston and Jason Sudeikis to name a few. Brianne Manz from @strollerinthecity invited me and a group of moms to a special Mother’s Day night of fun to see the Mother’s Day film. We had a theater to ourselves and was given popcorn, water and goodie bags filled with Lindt Chocolates, Fandango mug, notepad, buttons and gift card, also a $50 gift certificate towards a facial or massage from Cornelia Spa at the Surrey. What a treat! 

I’ve met Jason Sudeikis and Kate Hudson before and they are both great. I knew Jennifer Aniston was going to be funny in this movie and I love Julia Roberts. It was also good to see Sarah Chalke who I remember as (Becky) from rhe sitcom Roseanne. The whole cast was great! I love comedies and enjoyed laughing throughout the movie. Garry Marshall did a wonderful job as Director.Check your local theaters for tickets and time. If you want to get your laugh on this is the movie to see. My mother and sister saw it together and they also enjoyed it.

Johnsonville asked me to create my own variation of a kid-friendly breakfast for Mother’s Day. My kids were excited to work in the kitchen with me. We love cooking together and thinking of new recipes. 

We came up with a corn muffin, sausage with maple syrup. Easy to make, don’t have to turn on oven and easy clean up. Perfect for any size hands. It’s like stuffed French toast. 

Recipe: 

*1 or 2 packages of store bought corn muffins or you can make from scratch. 

*1 package of Johnsonville fully cooked breakfast sausages (turkey or original)

*Maple syrup (drizzle on what amount you want)

Directions:

In a skillet or frying pan heat up sausages for 7-9 minutes (or maybe even less than that). Flip a few times. 



Cut muffins in half, place in frying pan with butter already melted and heat till nice and bubbly. You can brown on both sides or just one side. Place sausage pattie on corn muffin, add maple syrup and place other half of muffin on top. 





There you have it! Three ingredients, fast and ready in no time. Johnsoville sausage patties fit perfectly on corn muffins. 

My daughter also came up with a quick snack or appetizer with Johnsonville sausages. She put crackers on a plate and added the Johnsonville sausage and tater tot on top. The tater tot had cheese melted on as well. You can add so many things to it. I thought she did a great job.




We also made a classic breakfast wrap with egg, cheese and Johnsonville sausage. We love our wraps in the morning.

Mother’s Day Cooking with JCPenney Bakeware

Mother’s Day for me is spent with my family. I know for some it’s a day to relax minus the kids, a spa day or dinner in a fancy restaurant. I enjoy cooking so I will be making dinner for my family a day ahead so we can just heat up the next day and have more time to spend with each other. Leftovers taste great too. I made a sample of baked ziti in my new Certified International Solstice 4.75-qt. Cream Rectangular Baker from JCPenney. It passed the test. I’ve never had a baking dish this fancy before. I’ve been missing out. I love the detail on my dish and the cream color. This dish just looks so good and baked my dish to a perfection. No leaks or spills, cooked evenly, and held my enormous baked ziti. What I like about this tablecloth and napkins is you don’t have to just use it for Cinco De Mayo. It can be used for any party, BBQ or get together. I will get good use out of my set thanks to JCPenney. 

We started our celebration a day ahead and my daughter and I had fun decorating the table with the tablecloth, napkins and lots of great food. It brightened up my table and took it to a whole new level. Take a look at how it went down in the Perez Casa.

 This special Bourbon barrel aged wine originates in the coastal vineyards of Monterey County, CA, where the region’s dynamic, geologic past brings forth fruit with an unmistakable sense of place. Grapes are picked at the peak of ripeness, after which the wine is aged and blended to deliver exceptional fruit flavors and complexity. Unique to this wine, a portion of the blend is aged for an additional three months, using a combination of new and used Kentucky Bourbon barrels, creating one of the first Bourbon barrel aged wines produced in the United States.
