My daughter’s 1st toy review!!

1 Dec

Not only was my daughter excited that I won her a Minnie Mouse Flipping Fun Kitchen by Disney, she wouldn’t stop asking me everyday if it came yet. When it finally came we tried to hide it but it’s like she knew it was here and walked right to it. Kids are a trip!!

I took some pictures of her cooking and also a video. If the video doesn’t come out I’ll try again or put it on Twitter.

My daughter loves her kitchen and hasn’t stopped playing with it. She wants to thank everyone involved with her getting what she always wanted.

She loves making milkshakes and flipping the pancake for our breakfast. Minnie also reminds her with her electronic voice to not forget to flip the pancake. The milkshake maker flips over to become a dish rack and the sink flips over to be a cutting board. So cute, we love it!!

My daughter’s 1st tooth finally came out!!

27 Nov

My daughter’s first tooth finally came out. It happened on the weekend and I’m glad she was home and not in school because she probably would have did what I’m about to tell you.

I have 3 boys older than my daughter and whenever they had a tooth fall out they would immediately bring it to me, or if they happen to be in school they would tell the teacher, wrap it in tissue and bring it home, but not my daughter….   She was eating lunch and decided to nonchalantly put it either on her plate or throw it in the trash then tell us that her tooth came out after we emptied her plate. So, doing what any mom would do I looked everywhere, including the garbage and nothing.

We really don’t know what happened to the tooth but she said to us “It’s okay my other tooth is growing in and I’ll have more teeth coming out again.” It’s like she was telling us don’t stress over it. Well, I’m not stressed but it’s the memories, even though I couldn’t tell you where my son’s teeth are right now knowing that I was able to hold on to it for the time that I did was special.

She’s my only daughter and it would have been nice but there will be other firsts. Excluding boyfriends. Lol. That’s my Minnie Me. You gotta laugh and enjoy every second with your kids. I love all of my kids!!!

Thanksgiving in mi casa!!

23 Nov

I was going to do a whole blog on Thanksgiving but I decided to keep it simple. After running around going loco to cook a big meal for my family I succeeded. Everyone were very happy with my dinner. I made a turkey of course that I brined for 8 hours the night before. I also made stuffing, yellow rice, mashed potatoes, green beans with garlic and red pepper flakes, seafood salad, macaroni and cheese and dinner rolls. For dessert there was sweet potato pie, apple pie, Entenmann’s holiday log cake, fresh whipped cream that I made, and ice cream.

We don’t like cranberry sauce so it wasn’t going on the table and I didn’t feel like making collard greens or candied yams. I was pooped. Plus I went to the Thanksgiving Day Parade thats morning while my turkey was in the oven.

My mother said I deserve a treat for making all that food that she enjoyed so much. She mentioned cruise. Hey, as long as she’s paying I’ll kindly accept.

My cousins came over and ate so I winded up cooking for a little over 11 people. There are some leftovers and I might make turkey salad.

Next year I might order a turduken or fried turkey. As many of you know I mentioned that I love cooking but I need someone to cook for me once in a while.

I didn’t take pictures of the food this year. It’s in everybody’s bellies. Here’s a picture of the log cake though.

Broadway Musical Reviews

14 Nov

This year I had the privilege of taking my kids to 2 shows on Broadway thanks to @themoms. One was The Musical Annie. The cast were incredible, singing was phenomenal, orchestra sounded great, and my kids and I enjoyed every minute. Annie was played by the Lilla Crawford. Ms. Hannigan was played by Kate Finneran and they both have some pipes on them. Ms. Hannigan had it down packed as far as the attitude, drinking, and just being her crazy, funny self. Annie was a doll. The whole cast just blew our socks off and everything is better live.

My kids couldn’t stop singing the songs. I have to admit I couldn’t either.

The only person I missed in the play was Punjab but I guess his services weren’t needed. Regardless we had a blast and would love to see it again.

The next show on Broadway we recently saw was Elf The Musical.
There was a reception first where the kids filled up on mini sliders, pizza, veggies and dip, peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, Baked by Melissa cupcakes, lollipops, Sierra Mist drinks, and Hershey Kisses. The guests also received gift bags with Sierra Mist glassware and coupons.

This was a very funny musical. Jordan Gelber played Buddy the Elf. He played the part very well. He made me want to take him home and adopt him.

Wayne Knight played Santa and if you watch any Seinfeld repeats you will know his character is Newman.

They gave props to a few well known stores such as, Duane Reade, Macy’s and Starbucks. Santa also made a joke about turning off his cell phone and having candy already unwrapped before the story begins so it doesn’t disturb anyone. I guess the lady behind me didn’t care because she tried to open her candy wrapper which seemed like it took forever and was very loud and disturbing.

The whole cast were great and I loved their singing. Another group with great lungs. There were a few profanity words thrown out there that I wish weren’t put in but I didn’t write the play. Since a lot of kids are seeing this they could have left it out though.

Overall another musical my kids and I enjoyed.

Purple Carpet Screening Hub Playdate Premiere Party

10 Nov

When it comes to movie screenings my kids will make sure they are there if it’s somethings they want to see. When it comes to a Purple Carpet screening my daughter will be excited a lot more than my son.

We were invited by two of my favorite girls @themoms to a screening of the Season Premiere of My Little Pony Friendship is Magic, and the all new series Littlest Pet Shop today at the Gramercy Theatre.

Now just from me naming the title I’m sure you figured out my son was not interested in attending but he had no choice because he is 9 years old.

When we arrived after waiting on line we can entered and walked the purple carpet with paparazzi taking our pictures as if we were celebrities. The staff handed us hand sanitizers and when we walked in my son smelled the popcorn and my daughter saw the world’s largest coloring book that the kids had to color for the Guinness World Records.

They had face painting, photographers courtesy of Time Out New York Kids, balloon professionals, games, and snacks galore for the active and hungry kids.

Melissa Joan Hart was the host and did a wonderful job. Of course I took pictures. These two shows will be on @HubTVNetwork Saturdays at 10a.m.
I recommend them both. I liked the Littlest Pet Shop.

There was a family sitting behind us and the father was laughing harder than his kids. They were funny and we need more of these types of shows for the kids.

Even though my son didn’t want to go he still had fun. He had about 3 bags of popcorn, donuts, drinks, and he had his psp with him. My daughter didn’t want it to end, but once she got her gift bag and saw all the toys inside she wanted to hurry up and get home to play with them.

Here are some pictures from our screening
Also Melissa Joan Hart!!

Family/Work/Choices

2 Nov

Even though we went through hardships and damages due to #Sandy I am glad I got to spend quality time home away from the hustle and bustle of work. I hardly see my kids as it is being that I work 5 days a week and their in school and I only have weekends off. We were able to do so much even though we were indoors. We played board games, cooked together, danced, singed, scavenger hunts, computer games, went over homework, read plenty of books, and my kids made videos just being kids.I rather be home and able to be on the go rather than at my job standing 8 hours a day which is giving me heel spurs at the moment. I have a big decision to make whether to continue with the medical problems and headaches at work or do what I love and be around positive people.I think this choice is going to be easy! The only good thing is I got paid to spend time with my family. Hope everyone continues to work together and get the city back up and running and remember family will always be there for you! Be safe and have a great day!!!
