CHARM IT! Design A Charm Contest #charmit
23 AprSaturday, April 18th partners CHARM IT! and Crayola held an event at Dylan’s Candy Bar in NYC. It was for their Design-A -Charm Contest. Kids were invited to the event and encouraged to design an original charm for the chance to have it produced as an actual CHARM IT! charm.
It was a packed house and my daughter was very excited to get creative and design a charm. I think she did over ten designs. She loves drawing and I was happy to see her put her skills to good use. Hopefully one of her designs will come to life.
She’s always been a fan of charms and girly accessories. I loved the way the staff wore the charms for necklaces as well as bracelets. They showed us the winning charms from their last contest. Kids know what they like and it shows in these wonderful charms.
There was a photo booth for the kids and parents with different charm it props and a cute background. We had fun with that. Cupcakes that looked like one of the charms. Breakfast foods and beverages were also provided.
These charms were tested in highly accredited labs and are safe. This is a big plus in my book. Here is a list of ways to care for your charms courtesy of CHARM IT!

4 DecThis year bloggers celebrated the holiday season with Momtrends at the Stella & Dot Showroom down on Wooster St, in NYC. I always get super excited when Momtrends throws their fabulous events. Donations this year were to Bottomless Closet. We were able to bring new or lightly used work clothes, accessories, coats or shoes for disadvantaged women going into the workplace. I remember years ago being part of a program like this where I got a referral to get free clothes, jewelry, shoes, etc so I could go on an interview. These programs/agencies/charities come in handy when women/men need clothing to go into the workplace. I appreciated it a lot. I didn’t mind at all donating for a good cause.

I loved the black sleeveless ponte sheath dress with pockets and cashmere dress cardigan sweater in red on one of the models. The cardigan gave it that pop of color. 23 NovAnother road trip was taken to Philly with my kids and friend Geanine and her son for the Mom Mixer with CVS Holiday Showcase. This year it was held at The Franklin Institute which is beautiful. There’s so many exhibits to see. We love museums and getting our education on. We will definitely return to check out the Sesame exhibit (The Body), Yoga with Elmo, Kitchen Science and Body Worlds: Animal Inside Out.

It was a room full of gift and stocking stuffer ideas from toys, lotion sets, coffee mugs, chocolates, cookies, even the famous North Pole communicator. CVS had me hooked with their delicious cookies and candy from their Gold Emblem line. I even won the CVS North Pole giveaway prize pack. I love to sparkle on holidays and Stella & Dot had beautiful sparkly jewelry and accessories. Stride Rite has cute comfy boots, sneakers and shoes for little feet. Spaghetti Headz had their famous hair accessories for the girls. Mixed Bags Designs provided everyone with their awesome huge reusable colorful bags to carry all of our gifts in. Wicked Cool Toys always bring along cool toys for the kids like Vrum the toy box that children ride on. Toys are packed inside while kids take a ride. Hasbro News is one of my kids favorite. My Little Pony, Play-Doh, Nerf, Transformers just to name a few. We love our board games like Monopoly and thanks for giving my son Battleship. TeleBrands amazed me and my kids with their Wow Cups. These are spill-free cups. Every family with kids should have theses. Kids can jump, run, roll and the drink always stays in. Amazing! Paul Frank gave out cute t-shirts in the gift bags. Love Paul Frank! Just Play Toys knew what they were doing when they had a display full of Care Bears, Puppy Surprise, Doc McStuffins Walk ‘n Talk Doc Mobile and Doodle Bear Toys. My daughter was extremely happy to win the Doc McStuffins Walk ‘n Talk Doc Mobile. Mcdonalds was happy to show everyone fresh ingredients used in their foods. Rodan and Fields a skincare company came with samples of their products for softer lips and face samples. My son spun the wheel at Sahara Sams table and won a pass to visit this amazing indoor/outdoor water park located in Berlin, NJ that’s open all year. We need to be there right now. We also want to visit Diggerland the only construction theme park located in West Berlin, NJ. Love water and theme parks. Elmo even made an appearance for the kids.

There was also a presentation with all of the sponsors talking about their products. Also, In Style beauty director Kahlana Barfield talked about trends for Spring 2015. I’m still fascinated when it comes to makeup and learning how to apply bold or pastel eyeshadow, bright red lip and the winged mascara look. I’m loving the matte lip personally and the amazing smells of some of the perfumes.

@Nina_Shoes Spring 2015 Collection #boys #girls #women #shoes
11 NovI recently visited Nina Footwear Showroom to preview their Spring 2015 shoe collection. Elements by Nina debuted new pieces for their boys collection. Sizes are from Toddler size 6 through youth size 5. Love the slip on shoes and sneakers in camo, also noticing vegan leather a lot in the collection, lime colors, velcro and canvas high top sneakers and suede bucks. Too bad these don’t come in bigger sizes for my son.
The girls collection had sandals in lots of prints in bright colors, glitter and leopard slip on, sneakers and dress shoes in sequins, shimmer ballet flats, dress shoes in patent leather, metallic and satin, heels just right size for small feet, denim or lace espadrilles, wedges and crochet sandals. I have my eyes on quite a few pairs for my daughter. I definitely want to see her in the espadrilles and small heels.
I also got to take a look at the women’s collection. Nina did not disappoint with lots of sparkle, bling, bejeweled high or low heels, sandals, wedges, dressy, sexy amazing shoes. Floral, gold, silver, pink, royal, pastel colors were beautiful. Shoes for all occasions. I’ll take a few dozen please.
If you think the shoes were sparkly the clutches and the jewelry were just as hot. A clutch to match your shoes and sparkle on any red carpet, holiday party or opening night on Broadway. Satin purses were also beautiful in bright colors. The jewelry blew me away. People will think you spent thousands when you walk in blinging. Beautiful necklaces, bracelets, earrings. Swarovski pieces as well which I also could use a few dozen pieces from the collection. My favorite piece was the sparly choker necklace with strands of chains that hang to your waist. Gorgeous. I don’t know about you but if my closets looked like this showroom stocked with tons of jewelry, shoes, purses and clutches I wouldn’t know how to control myself. I already don’t have room for the shoes I currently own but with these I would need to rent storage or move.
These were my favorite sandals and sparkly heels. Love the patent leather. All these sandals I must have and those heels are screaming my name. Here are the pictures.

ETSY’S HOLIDAY PRESS PREVIEW 2014 #ETSYHOLIDAY
5 AugI was invited to Etsy’s Holiday Press Preview 2014 to check out fashion accessories, home and entertaining gift items from Etsy’s top vendors.
The first vendor I met was Chilean jewelry designer Soledad Proano. She launched “Sol del Sur” her metals and textiles jewelry and accessories company. Sol obtained a certificate in metalsmithing and took other design and art courses at Pasadena City College in California, before moving to Brooklyn, NY in the Summer of 2013. All her jewelry is made by hand in her light-filled studio in Bushwick. Sol del Sur jewelry is available locally at independent and museum shops in the US, as well as worldwide through soldelsurshop.com and more recently, at Anthropologie.com

The next vendor was Dominique Caron with her skincare line “Caru Skincare Co.” which crafts gentle and effective products from high quality botanical ingredients that are carefully selected for their potency and sustainability. Frustrated by the poor selection of skincare products on the market Dominique Caron took matters into her own hands and started making her own. The scents are amazing. Guests were given samples of her soap to take home. I picked peppermint and the chamomile and honey soaps. Take a look at her products.
The third vendor was Amanda Schwartz, designer of her handbag and accessory line “Two Tickets”. Her passion is to unite form and function, past and present, beauty and durability. She showed us her beautiful collection of color block crossbody bags, clutches, wallet pouch phone cases and fringed key chain tassels. Everything was beautiful at the preview. I love decorating and the home decor had amazing pieces. I also loved the entertaining section. If I could put my wish list out now I would ask for everything. Here are a few pictures that I took of my favorite things.
