SHOPPING @Walmart FOR ALL YOUR THANKSGIVING NEEDS

22 Nov

When it comes to Thanksgiving I’m a beast in the kitchen. Ok, I’m a beast in the kitchen regardless because I love cooking. I love trying new recipes and letting my kids help me cook. I’ve gotten better prepping the night before and even making a few side dishes or appetizers to save me time the next day. I’m up at 4 am everyday regardless so this is perfect time to have the kitchen nice and quiet, Keurig is programmed to pour me coffee and house smelling like good home cooking. What I also like is this year I have 2 crockpots which saves me even more time because I just put whatever I’m cooking in and let it do it’s magic. I don’t have to keep checking, just leave it alone. Once everyone gets up breakfast is served and kids are ready to help me in the kitchen.

I notice my local supermarkets start putting main products on sale weeks before Thanksgiving and a week before they rack the price back up. Stuffing always sells out, turkey’s are too high and so frozen you need a few days just to thaw it out, macaroni that’s on sale sells out, cheese is priced so high if you don’t get it when I said it goes on sale and you know you can’t use just one type of cheese in your Mac and Cheese. Green beans also by the pound can be priced high and sold out if you’re not quick. Also, the lines in my supermarket are ridiculous as if were having a snowstorm and everyone is afraid to run out of food so the entire neighborhood decided to shop on the same day. Geez Louise. I love a 24 hr supermarket because while everyone is sleep I shop or just go very early or do it when the sales are on.

Some people don’t have to worry about cooking because they either eat at a restaurant or go house hopping to relatives. That’s where bringing a dish or gift comes in. If I am invited to my relatives house or anyone’s house I always bring a dish or gift. Usually a pie, wine, or platter of cheeses and or meats is good to give as a gift. If I cook I bring whatever I had time to make.

I attended Walmart Holiday event and found amazing gifts at amazing prices. There was a Columbus Salame Gift Pack that include 3 varieties of salame for $15.98. (That’s how it’s spelled). This can be served as an appetizer with crackers and cheese. Rembrandt Aged Gouda Cheese that has been aged for one year. Ideal for cheese boards and pasta dishes for only $5.98. Looka Desserts- Macarons are an assorted box of French meringue sandwich cookies in flavors like chocolate, vanilla, pistachio and raspberry. Come on, who doesn’t love a macaron? All this deliciousness for $7.96 a box. There’s also a Butterball Cajun Spiced Turkey. Yeah you heard me, CAJUN!!!! This 3lb boneless frozen turkey breast is great and comes with Cajun seasoning and gravy packet for only $9.98. Doesn’t hurt to have boneless meat knowing that all of it won’t be wasted. No bones!!! Yippee!! With baking you either got it or you don’t. If you don’t and want to bring a great pie with you pick up Walmart’s 10″ Apple Pie made with Apple slices and a dash of cinnamon. This pie contains gluten, nuts and dairy so read labels first. Only $5.98.

You can buy a gift basket and combine a few of these things and Mae it look like you spent a lot.

That’s just half of what Walmart has to offer. There’s also great appetizers, liquor gift sets with glasses included, Cinnabon has a baking kit your house will be smelling great. From crustless quiche to spanakopita. You can never have enough appetizers while the main course is cooking. Check out all the goodies at your local Walmart and see how much you save and all the great gift ideas and food you can purchase. Also check Walmart online: http://www.Walmart.com

Disclosure: I was not compensated for this post. I was invited to their Holiday Event.opinions are 100% mine as always.

@clarksshoes SPRING 2015 COLLECTION PREVIEW #clarksSS15

21 Nov

Comfortable, affordable, stylish shoes should be in everyone’s closet. There’s so many shoes to choose from but not all are worth it. Clark’s Shoes have been around since 1825 and have great styles for the whole family. I am a big fan and was very pleased to attend a preview of their Spring 2015 Collection. I started with the kids collection from infant up to kids. I attended their kids fashion show at Petite Parade and adored the spring collection on those small feet. Soft bendable soles for infants and toddlers is something I always looked for when my kids were smaller. I also loved that the girls collection had an espadrille type sandal where the heel wasn’t too high. Also the cute Birkenstock type sandal in silver, polka dots and a nice plum color are on my daughter’s must have list. She loves her sandals. Velcro’s also played a big part in the kids collection and the blinged out sneakers in pink and silver had me wanting a pair for myself. There were also funky chevron polka dot high top and low top sneakers that boys and girls could wear in my opinion. Maybe the low tops for the boys. My daughter wants the high tops. Boat shoes every kid and adult should own a pair or two. Color blocking in the sneakers, sandals and boat shoes were also very stylish. I saw lots of 4th of July colors. Water sandals are a must have too. The little wallabees and desert boots for infants/kids were so cute.

Heels, heels and more heels is what the woman’s collection was showing in neutral colors. Lots of creams, blacks, and a few pinks, navy, reds, yellows and oranges. I even saw a great pair of snakeskin flats. I love strappy heels and the Oxford shoes were a must have. Clogs, mules, and wedges were also on point. Sandals in silver, white black and snakeskin as well. T-strap dress sandals in yellow, orange, and a crocodile two tone flat was beautiful. The heels with daisies from the Orla Kiely collection were colorful and fun. Need the whole Orla Kiely collection.

Wallabees and Desert Boots are the original shoes from Clark’s and I remember almost every man wearing a pair. These are still very popular as I see on men’s feet till this day. Comfortable, look great and you can choose from suede or leather in both. I always loved the dark brown in the wallabees. The desert boot comes in amazing colors for men like the denim, khaki and chili. Great casual sneakers in leather or suede and slip ons with breathable mesh material. The wing tip dress shoes in color block styles are very stylish. I love to see a man dressed up with a shoe like this. Espadrilles, boat shoes and sandals perfect for that getaway.

Visit Clark’s on Twitter:@clarksshoes and on the web at: http://www.clarks.co.uk
Disclosure: I was not compensated for this post but was given an awesome pair of desert boots with pink sole. So chic!! Opinions are mine 100% as always.

@BestBuy It’s #HintingSeason for the LG OLED TV #OLEDatBestBuy #spon

19 Nov

When I moved into my new house in the Bronx the first piece of technology I had to purchase was a flat screen tv and I knew it was going on the wall. With kids I didn’t want any accidents and it looks so much better off the ground. I also knew it had to be from Best Buy because they had the latest in televisions and best prices. That was in 2010. So much has happened since then with new televisions coming out with high definition, to the thinnest surface, most clear, colorful pictures you’ve ever seen. For the non tech person it’s probably hard to keep up with everything out here. I make sure I go to Best Buy when I want to find out what new and hot.

Don’t get me wrong I still love my tv but my kids keep saying we need to upgrade. That’s when I heard about the LG OLED TV.

The stunning design of LG OLED TV is only 0.21″ thick at its thinnest point. Picture quality is spectacular, with Infinite Contrast that ranges from the most blazing whites to the deepest blacks. And, LG’s exclusive 4 Color Pixel technology delivers bright, vibrant colors. Learn more here: http://www.LGOLEDatBestbuy.com

Your first kiss. A baby’s first steps. The majesty of a desert sunset. Some things in life defy all explanation and must be experienced to be believed. Such is the case with LG’s latest display technology. With deeper and richer colors, stunning contrast and ingeniously curved screens, it is unlike any technology you’ve ever seen, and it delivers a picture that exceeds your wildest imagination.

LG 55EC9300 SKU# 7846019 – OLED TV:

*Infinite contrast ratio and stunning color – delivers more natural, lifelike viewing.

*4 Color Pixel technology enhances color range and accuracy.

*Super thin design (consider how to show visually)

*Find content faster with webOS

Don’t that make you want to upgrade?
Best Buy’s everyday price of $3499.99 (save $500). What a deal!!

Pencil thin, 4 color pixel and curved screen are my top 3 favorites. Can’t wait for our family to go shopping together and we all agree on this amazing LG OLED TV. They are going to love it!!

Disclosure: I have been compensated in the form of a Best Buy Gift Card and/or received the product/service at a reduced price or for free.

@Nina_Shoes Spring 2015 Collection #boys #girls #women #shoes

11 Nov

I recently visited Nina Footwear Showroom to preview their Spring 2015 shoe collection. Elements by Nina debuted new pieces for their boys collection. Sizes are from Toddler size 6 through youth size 5. Love the slip on shoes and sneakers in camo, also noticing vegan leather a lot in the collection, lime colors, velcro and canvas high top sneakers and suede bucks. Too bad these don’t come in bigger sizes for my son.

The girls collection had sandals in lots of prints in bright colors, glitter and leopard slip on, sneakers and dress shoes in sequins, shimmer ballet flats, dress shoes in patent leather, metallic and satin, heels just right size for small feet, denim or lace espadrilles, wedges and crochet sandals. I have my eyes on quite a few pairs for my daughter. I definitely want to see her in the espadrilles and small heels.

I also got to take a look at the women’s collection. Nina did not disappoint with lots of sparkle, bling, bejeweled high or low heels, sandals, wedges, dressy, sexy amazing shoes. Floral, gold, silver, pink, royal, pastel colors were beautiful. Shoes for all occasions. I’ll take a few dozen please.

If you think the shoes were sparkly the clutches and the jewelry were just as hot. A clutch to match your shoes and sparkle on any red carpet, holiday party or opening night on Broadway. Satin purses were also beautiful in bright colors. The jewelry blew me away. People will think you spent thousands when you walk in blinging. Beautiful necklaces, bracelets, earrings. Swarovski pieces as well which I also could use a few dozen pieces from the collection. My favorite piece was the sparly choker necklace with strands of chains that hang to your waist. Gorgeous. Here is the picture.

IMG_4600-0.JPG

I don’t know about you but if my closets looked like this showroom stocked with tons of jewelry, shoes, purses and clutches I wouldn’t know how to control myself. I already don’t have room for the shoes I currently own but with these I would need to rent storage or move.

These were my favorite sandals and sparkly heels. Love the patent leather. All these sandals I must have and those heels are screaming my name. Here are the pictures.

I was excited to see what was in store for the women since I’ve always been a fan of Lands End because of everything they have to offer for the entire family from apparel, outerwear, footwear and home items. Loving the ballet flats, sneakers, paisley tote bags, boat shoes, denim jeans in dark and white, dress shirts with the Lands End logo, polo shirts with printed shirts, floral and cable knit sweaters with shirts, loved the rain coats and the butterfly shorts, beautiful dresses from lace to to floral prints, stripes and amazing neck lines. Accessories a woman could never have enough like the handbags, totes, hats, gloves, scarves and stripe belts. Love the nautical theme look. V-neck sweaters and cardigans with trenches, shorts and sneakers or boat shoes look casual but chic,. The workout clothes colorful and comfortable.whether you’re in a gym, running errands, or bike riding Lands End has the right pieces for you. Lightweight jackets also available.

RUUM’S CHAMBRAY BUTTON DOWN SHIRT SEEN ON NORTH WEST #RUUMkids

24 Sep

There’s nothing more adorable when you have a mini fashionista in the making. Moms and dads are trotting their mini me’s around with a sense of style. Since my first born I’ve always dressed my kids with that fashion swag without spending a fortune. That’s the fashionista mom in me. I can proudly say we still got it!

Recently I’ve come across the amazing kids fashion line RUUM. I am head over heels in love with their collections. Too bad my sons can’t wear any of the clothes but that’s okay because my daughter loves it all. I recently attended RUUM’s preview of their Fall/Winter collection and just want to say my daughter will need more closet space. How is it that some kids have more clothes than their parents? I was just discussing this earlier with another parent. What parent doesn’t want their kids to look good when they step out into the world? I say the whole family needs to look good together.

Sometimes my daughter and I color coordinate or even wear the same shirt or jeans and even our hair up in a bun a few times. I love dressing her up or down. She is definitely my little mini me with style and will let me know in a heart beat if she likes something or not.

I’m noticing celebrities kids are channeling their parents street style savvy. Recently spotted was North West with mom Kim Kardashian leaving LAX airport. North effortlessly sports a RUUM American Kid’s Wear double pocket chambray button down, accompanied with chino’s and classic boots. No doubt in this look North West went with her (daddy) Kanye West style. Can you say gorgeous? She is a cutie pie and her parents know that RUUM is one of the best brands for their little girl.

Whether you’re a celebrity or not RUUM is affordable and if you check out the website you can get up to 50% off select Fall Fashions. Shop their Fall Lookbook and see what the Denim Shop has in store. http://www.RUUM.com

ETSY’S HOLIDAY PRESS PREVIEW 2014 #ETSYHOLIDAY

5 Aug

I was invited to Etsy’s Holiday Press Preview 2014 to check out fashion accessories, home and entertaining gift items from Etsy’s top vendors.

The first vendor I met was Chilean jewelry designer Soledad Proano. She launched “Sol del Sur” her metals and textiles jewelry and accessories company. Sol obtained a certificate in metalsmithing and took other design and art courses at Pasadena City College in California, before moving to Brooklyn, NY in the Summer of 2013. All her jewelry is made by hand in her light-filled studio in Bushwick. Sol del Sur jewelry is available locally at independent and museum shops in the US, as well as worldwide through soldelsurshop.com and more recently, at Anthropologie.com
Take a look at her beautiful pieces below. Guests were given samples of her bracelets and earrings.

The next vendor was Dominique Caron with her skincare line “Caru Skincare Co.” which crafts gentle and effective products from high quality botanical ingredients that are carefully selected for their potency and sustainability. Frustrated by the poor selection of skincare products on the market Dominique Caron took matters into her own hands and started making her own. The scents are amazing. Guests were given samples of her soap to take home. I picked peppermint and the chamomile and honey soaps. Take a look at her products.

SHOPPING FOR SUMMER CLOTHES WITH @PSFromAero & @strollerinthecity #SITCepickids

22 May

When I get invited to a fashion show or shopping event of any kind I get excited because I know I’m leaving with something for me or my kids or all of us. I also know the best stores to shop at, and the ones that will get me my money’s worth.

This time it was for my kids and I am so glad because my kids grow so fast and are in need of new spring/summer clothes. The only thing with my eleven year old is he’s not fitting into kids clothes anymore. He’s the same size as my eighteen, and twenty-three year old believe it or not.

Brianne Manz founder of Strollerinthecity had another kids event at the P.S. from Aeropostale store in the Manhattan Mall, May 19th. This was a 2-hour shopping event where we got 20% off the entire store, photo booth (Polaroid Portal) for the kids, refreshments from Treathouse, water, juice, a DJ spinning top hits, coloring activities, and the best part picking out new outfits.

The first thing I noticed was the Buy One, Get Two free sections. Yes, you heard right. Not Buy One, Get One Free. It’s Buy One, Get Two Free!!! That was for all the t-shirts, shorts, and tanks. Also, there was already 40% & 50% off in the store. I loved the bright colors, sandals, and cool accessories. My daughter wanted it all. I loved what she picked out. She recently wore her outfit to an event and everyone loved it. The boys collection had Major League Baseball items, cool sunglasses, swimming trunks, and bright colorful polos. My son picked out a great smelling cologne.

Once my kids friends came we stayed a little longer so they could have fun time with them even though we had two more events that same day to attend. A mother’s job is never done.

Prices were incredible and I will be going back to purchase more for my daughter. The adult store is also joined together so adults can shop too. That’s where I will get my eleven year old clothes from.

It was a fun filled morning checking out the spring collection and enjoying treats and discounts.

Disclosure: I received a gift card. Opinions are always my own.
