@MarvelOnTour Review @themoms #SuperheroMoms #mul

7 Aug

It was family night at the IZOD Center for bloggers courtesy of the moms Denise and Melissa to see MARVEL UNIVERSE LIVE. The kids were so excited and we’ve never been to the IZOD so this was a treat. We did have a hard time getting there, however we put that behind us, made it on time and had a blast. We met some of the cast and the kids dressed up as their favorite characters and had props to use as well.

There was a buffet full of delicious foods such as chicken tenders, burgers, hot dogs, veggies, pretzels, cheese platter and drinks. The kids received goodie bags when we checked in. We loved the water bottles.

After taking pictures and stuffing our bellies we proceeded upstairs to our seats which were great seats might I add. Denise and Melissa opened up the show and our section full of bloggers cheered them on.

The show started with a bang. The characters were full of energy and the kids knew every character in the show. I was excited to see Iron Man, Spider-Man, Wolverine and the Black Widow to name a few. They were all awesome. They got some fighting, acrobatic, flipping, motorcycling skills on them.

Lots of explosions, fire, dropping and flying from above and team work. This turned out to be a great show and we enjoyed ourselves and I know my kids would love to see it again.
It was great seeing everyone and I’d like to thank the moms Denise and Melissa for a fun family night.

ETSY’S HOLIDAY PRESS PREVIEW 2014 #ETSYHOLIDAY

5 Aug

I was invited to Etsy’s Holiday Press Preview 2014 to check out fashion accessories, home and entertaining gift items from Etsy’s top vendors.

The first vendor I met was Chilean jewelry designer Soledad Proano. She launched “Sol del Sur” her metals and textiles jewelry and accessories company. Sol obtained a certificate in metalsmithing and took other design and art courses at Pasadena City College in California, before moving to Brooklyn, NY in the Summer of 2013. All her jewelry is made by hand in her light-filled studio in Bushwick. Sol del Sur jewelry is available locally at independent and museum shops in the US, as well as worldwide through soldelsurshop.com and more recently, at Anthropologie.com
Take a look at her beautiful pieces below. Guests were given samples of her bracelets and earrings.

The next vendor was Dominique Caron with her skincare line “Caru Skincare Co.” which crafts gentle and effective products from high quality botanical ingredients that are carefully selected for their potency and sustainability. Frustrated by the poor selection of skincare products on the market Dominique Caron took matters into her own hands and started making her own. The scents are amazing. Guests were given samples of her soap to take home. I picked peppermint and the chamomile and honey soaps. Take a look at her products.

The third vendor was Amanda Schwartz, designer of her handbag and accessory line “Two Tickets”. Her passion is to unite form and function, past and present, beauty and durability. She showed us her beautiful collection of color block crossbody bags, clutches, wallet pouch phone cases and fringed key chain tassels. Guests were given a key chain tassel to choose from a variety of colors. Take a look at her bags and accessories below.

#MomtrendsBTS event and fashion show @VeraBradley Showroom NYC

1 Aug

Momtrends hosted their annual Back to School event this year at Vera Bradley’s showroom in NYC. My daughter Taylinn was given the opportunity to model in the fashion show and she was one very happy girl. The sponsors that the kids modeled for were from Carter’s, Appaman, Lands End, Stride Rite and French Toast. My daughter wore Lands End polka dot denim jacket, skirt and cute long sleeve shirt with horses. Her cute sneakers were from Stride Rite. To top off the outfit she carried a colorful Vera Bradley lunch bag. I was so proud of her. All the kids did a great job and even got to keep the outfits they modeled and were sent book bags and lunch bags to their homes.

Vera Bradley’s showroom is so vibrant and full of color. Her collection is amazing I wanted to take everything home from jewelry to wallets, iPad cases, backpacks and totes.

Vera Bradley spoke to everyone about the trends for the fall. I love pink and that’s the color that will be mixed with materials like faux leather and cotton. Barbara Bradley spoke about the 32 year old company that was started with a $250 loan from her husband that she gladly paid back.

French Toast has been around for more than 50 years and I have always relied on them to bring me the best school uniforms for my kids. Everything you need from polos, button ups, jumpers, skirts, and pants. I’m loving the pants with the bow for a belt and the shirts with buttons that look like bling. There’s also a one piece dress with the shirt attached. Incredible. You can also purchase a years worth of uniforms for $125. That’s amazing! They have really been a blessing for my kids. Love the new uniforms. Check out the website.

Stride Rite has kept my kids feet happy with all their amazing, shoes, sneakers, boots and sandals from all brands. I love taking my kids in for a shoe measure and let them pick out the great styles. These are very comfortable, durable and inexpensive. I also love the dress shoes for my daughter like the Mary Janes and the colorful, bright sneakers. My son foot is too big for Stride Rite but at least I have one child left who can enjoy over 400 styles to choose from.

Mabel’s Labels is a big hit with my kids folders, lunches, clothing, and school supplies that need labeling. My daughter loved all the labels especially the luggage tag with her name on it. All the labels have the name of the person on it. I picked up some with my name on it at the event that was pre-made for us bloggers. It’s all about organization. My daughter loves to be organized. She takes after me. The designs and colors are fun and stand out. I’ve never had a problem with these labels getting lost or not sticking well. Very durable. Check their website for a back to school combo.

Foods with no artificial flavors or colorings is a plus in my house. Revolution Foods provided us with a sample of their healthy snacks in our gift bags. I will be checking out their website for more info on how my kids can pack their healthy and fresh foods meal kits in their lunch bags.

It was nice to meet Wall Pops and learn about wall art and other goodies they carry. I especially liked this because my daughter (like her mother) loves decorating and this wall art will be great for her space. I want to see what she comes up with.

No parent wants to hear their kid say “my hair itches”, so the company Vamousse was there to show everyone their products to use to get rid of head lice. In 15 minutes the lice is killed. We received a sample in our goodie bag. Have never had to experience that and hope I never have to but it’s good to be prepared.

Sheila McCraith, author of The Orange Rhino showed parents her tips on how to yell less for a week, month, or year. I definitely could use those tips. I don’t yell everyday but I’m sure her tips could help. If she could do it for a year straight so could I.

The food was amazing. Sushi was served, my favorite and other goodies.
There were raffles and guests were given cute, colorful Vera Bradley totes with school supplies inside.

We had a great time and Taylinn is ready for her next fashion show. Thank you Momtrends for a wonderful event!!!

SPRINT SOUND SESSION HTC ONE M8 HARMAN KARDON EDITION #sponsored #MC #Sprintmusic #Sprintmom

28 Jul

“I participated in an Influencer Activation Program on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for Sprint Sound Session. I received a sample of the HTC One to facilitate this review and a promotional item to thank me for participating.” http://momcentralconsulting.com/

I recently attended the Sprint Sound Session event at the beautiful Lambs Club restaurant in NY located in Times Square. We were treated to delicious appetizers, drinks, lunch and dessert.

I went there to learn about the HTC One M8 Harman Kardon Edition Phone, the Harman Kardon Onyx Speaker and listen to #TheVoice Season 2 winner Jermaine Paul serenade us with his beautiful music.

I couldn’t wait to test out the HTC One M8 and see what was in store for me. I love listening to music in my house, the car, train, gym, anywhere. I usually don’t put music on my phone because I have an iPod and I feel that my battery will waste, but after hearing music on my HTC One M8 phone I was blown away. First of all I didn’t know how easy it was to use Spotify. The sound is amazing from the headphones that come with the phone and includes LiveStage a Harman technology that provides a more lifelike listening experience. Now, I don’t have to carry around my iPod anymore. Sprint exclusively offers customers access to Spotify’s catalogue of +20 million songs for either three or six months for FREE, plus reduced Spotify Premium pricing for 18 months for Sprint customers on Framily plans. Spotify is a great value. A music lover can easily spend more than $9.99 per month buying individual music tracks or albums. For that same price (or less), Sprint customers have access to +20 million songs with Spotify Premium on their mobile phone, computer or other compatible, connected device. Here is the Sprint Music Page: http://www.sprint.com/landings/music/index.html?ECID=vanity:music#.U87LWYBdXmU I also love the other music apps on the phone like Next Radio which has different radio stations available from Hip Hop, Top 40, Jazz /Blues, even Classical music. Another app is the Sprint Music Plus where you can purchase music and ringtones.

I am a photographer at heart. I take my pictures serious and my favorite is the amazing camera on this phone. When the Sprint representative showed us what the dual lens camera could do I knew I was going to have fun. I’ve been using the camera and I’ve already had people tell me that my phone and the camera is great. My photos look like professional photos and I didn’t have to carry around an extra bulky camera. I can’t get over how I can edit the pictures to my liking from the vintage look to drama and I can add frames, center focus and tilt shift. I also love the selfie mode that counts down from 3 to 1. Pictures are crisp and sharp every time. Video is on point too. I used it for the first time and the sound and video was clear.

I’ve heard good things about the Framily Plan from Sprint. I also have lots of friends who are Sprint customers and if I join the Framily Plan the more people in my family, the lower my rate will be. I would also get unlimited data, talk and text with the Sprint Network. That’s my kind of deal. The company I’m using doesn’t offer me unlimited data and I definitely need that in the blogging field. I feel a switch coming on.

I’ve met quite a few celebrities in my years but there’s nothing like meeting a music artist. There’s a connection there especially when it’s a live performance because you get to feel what the artist feels when they are singing in person and hear the music up close. I love live concerts and hearing the artist let it all out. My favorite instrument is the drums and it just sounds so good live. Grammy nominated artist, Jermaine Paul from #TheVoice Season 2 sounded great live. Watching him on television was one thing, seeing and hearing him live playing the guitar is another. He sung three songs and took pictures with everyone. His song “Next To You” had everyone with smiles on their faces. “Eyes Of Brazil” was another beautiful song. I’ve already downloaded his songs and it sounds great on my phone and on my Harman Kardon Onyx Speaker that I won at the event.

When I got my Harman Kardon Onyx Speaker home I immediately took it out, downloaded songs from Spotify and connected. It has Bluetooth connectivity which connects wirelessly to any Bluetooth enabled device. My kids and I couldn’t stop playing song after song because of the sound. Our music experience was as if we were at a live concert. There are 4 powered speakers and dual passive radiators for extraordinary acoustics. The design is sophisticated and has a highly distinctive shape. The round button on the back pumps up and down with the vibration of the music. My kids enjoying looking at it and feeling it move. We listen to it a lot since I got it.

I also couldn’t believe how easy it was to link my phone contacts from my iPhone to my HTC One M8 so quick and easy with just the press of one button. Genius.

I am so happy I was able to experience this Sprint Sound Session. I love my new phone and speaker and will be making that switch to the Framily Plan soon. SOCIAL HOUR WITH VIVE MEJOR & CELEBRITY GUESTS #ViveMejor #Beauty #Latinas

16 Jul

I was invited to the Hudson New York Hotel for Vive Mejor Social Hour for an evening of pampering and scrumptious recipes with Celebrity Beauty Expert and Hairstylist Mario Anton and former Real Housewives of Miami and Celebrity Chef Ana Quincoces.

My friends and I walked into a beautiful penthouse filled with beauty and food products, cupcakes, amazing appetizers, drinks, a DJ spinning great tunes, beauty station, manicure station, and a roof deck where you could take gorgeous pictures.

I immediately went for a cupcake then proceeded to the beauty station to see the gorgeous hairstyles that Mario Anton was creating on guests throughout the night. Easy to do and beautiful hairstyles for every occasion. Beauty product full size samples were available for guests to take home and we were given a bag to stock up in the goodies. Food product samples were also given so we could try the amazing recipes that Ana Quincoces created when she demonstrated how to make quick appetizers using Knorr products. Hellmann’s mayonnaise and Ragu spaghetti sauce my favorite was also given out. Beauty products were from a Dove, Suave, TRESemme, Ponds, Caress and Clear. Everything from lotion, shampoos, conditioner, BB Cream, soap and body wash.

We danced the night away and it turned out to be a beautiful evening because it rained earlier but the skies cleared up and we had a ball. Any event with beauty products, music, food, drinks, and swag you already know it’s gonna be a night to remember. We didn’t want to leave. Lol.

Vive Mejor encourages Latinas to rethink their food, beauty and lifestyle routines to make them better. Check out their site here: http://www.vivemejor.com for inspirational ideas to help you live better!

I can’t wait fir the next event. I could do this every month.

eCarrot TEACHES KIDS TO SEE SCREEN TIME AS A VALUABLE REWARD

16 Jul

I was invited to attend an event at Southard Communications to learn about a new app for parents that helps monitor your child’s time limit on devices. My children love all their smart devices and game consoles and I try my hardest to monitor their time. Weekends I’m more lenient. How many hours does your child spend on smart devices? Check out this new app called eCarrot.

eCarrot is a ground-breaking, rewards based software platform that converges parental controls and education to enhance learning via a smartphone or tablet. Now available for Android devices on Google Play, eCarrot (www.ecarrot.it) is the first such program that uses proven behavioral science to encourage learning through the help of a rewards system, providing parents with an easy and effective means of managing children’s time spent on smart devices and rewarding them for hard work!

The software has been tested in schools here in the US and India – showing improved scores in computation by 30% – 40%. In fact, teachers have reported that they were able to better understand the various methods in which each student learned – while the kids were learning and having fun at the same time.

The concept is simple:
For every educational task your child performs, he or she receives a designated amount of “free” time on the chosen device.
As a parent or teacher using the app, you set a select amount of time-owed based on what your kids/students accomplish.
Each question answered correctly is rewarded with a set amount of time.
Kids can choose to build a bank of time by answering more and more questions or alternatively earn five minutes and jump into playtime immediately.

The app can be downloaded for free on Google Play. Right now the app works on Android devices and will soon be available on iOs.

I enjoyed meeting the husband and wife team who created this app. This is something for all parents and teachers to look into. They are also working on more goodies to come in the future.

#DisneyOTR #DisneySMMoms #DisneySide Great Time in Philly #travel

4 Jul

There are tons of conferences being held in Philly and since I’m only about 2 hours away I don’t mind attending. I applied to attend the Disney Social Media Moms On The Road Conference Celebration in Philly on June 19th and was selected. I was so excited because I am a big Disney fan. Even though I haven’t been to Disney World in a long time I still support everything Disney. I want to go back and visit with my family because my kids keep telling me they want to go and I feel every kid needs to experience it. Attending this conference was as close as I was going to get to Disney for now.

Hubby drove and we were the first ones to arrive. The conference was held in the Crowne Plaza Valley Forge Hotel. Beautiful hotel and we also received complimentary parking and breakfast which was amazing.

Jamie Langdon (Walt Disney World PR and Social Media Manager) and Leanne Jakubowski O’ Regan ( Director Social Media Disney Parks) welcomed everyone. Gary Buchanan (Walt Disney World Social Media Managing Editor) spoke about What’s New, What’s Next at Disney Parks. Jenn Fickley-Baker (WDW Social Media Manager) took us behind the scenes with Disney Parks Social Media. Lori Lorenz (Senior Director, Direct Print Services HP) showed us the solution side of Motherhood. Victoria Lim (Managing Editor, WDW PR) showed us how to create visual content with ease. Maria Bailey introduced the Lessons Learned, Experiences Shared – The Life of a Mom Business Owners.

Anything that has to do with Disney I know will be informative and worth me going. I met lots of new bloggers, saw some familiar faces and left with lots of great inspirational messages and educational content to support my goals. I enjoyed learning about the right technology to use when blogging such as owning camera lens kit, Gorilla Pod, and a Smartlav Lavalier Microphone. Amazing apps to use are: Videolicious, Magisto, and Cute Cut. The entrepreneurs on the panel who invented products and are now living their dreams are: Amy Bradley @toydozer, Kristi Gorinas (Dad Pack), Jen Groover @jengroover (Butler Bag).

HP spoke to attendees. I love their desktops and printers which I own and was proud to learn that Instant ink communicates with your printer and lets you know when ink is low. $2.99 a month for service ink comes delivered to your door. Cheaper than buying ink in store. I will be using this service from now on.

Disney Parks are always coming up with new rides and attractions and I know it would probably take my family and I a month to see it all. Disney festival fantasy parade just launched in California. Every time I hear about a new ride or character I keep telling myself we will go someday. My kids make sure to keep reminding me too.

Debi Silber (Author and Founder of The Mojo Coach) spoke to us about health/fitness/lifestyle. She had us up out of our seats doing an exercise. She also asked what would happen if you were 100% in the space you are in? I think we all could use a mojo coach. Toxic people stress our immune systems, positive people strengthen them. Choose our company. Great talk Debi.

Throughout the conference raffles were being given out and cookies for our tables and we also got a pin that we could trade with other tables. I liked my pin. Beverages were stocked and there were photo props to put on as you took pictures at the booth. There was a line to take a picture with Gary but I made sure I got one with him. He is very funny and nice. We also had a surprise guest show up at the end. It was Mickey Mouse. You know you couldn’t have a Disney conference without the mouse himself. Also if you wanted at the end of the conference you could take home a balloon.

The panel taught me a lot and I am ready and look forward to so much more opportunities to come.
Thank you to everyone who made this event possible.

CAN WE TALK ABOUT LONG TERM HEALTHCARE? #LetsTalk #MC #Sponsored

2 Jul

“I wrote this review while participating in a campaign for Mom Central Consulting on behalf of Genworth. I attended a live event and received a promotional item to thank me for participating.” http://www.momcentralconsulting.com/

My kids and I took a stroll to the Flatiron District NYC to learn about about long term healthcare with Genworth and spokesperson Rob Lowe. Yes, Rob Lowe. The Genworth #LetsTalk tour will be visiting five cities across the United States – New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Dallas – in addition to engaging people via social media.

Birch Coffee welcomed guests with their amazing iced coffee and free coffee mugs and a photo booth with a enormous prop of a coffee mug. My kids enjoyed their pictures with the mugs.

The need for long term care affects nearly everyone fortunate enough to live a long life – 70 percent of those who live past age 65 will need some form of long term care at some point.

The Genworth Cost of Care Study is a great source of information. (Found at http://www.genworth.com or get the App.)
Services at an adult day health care center cost more than $16,000 a year.

One year of home health aide services costs, on average, more than $45,000. (That’s nearly the median household income in the United States!)

A one-bedroom room in an assisted living facility is typically a $42,000 annual expense.

A private room in a nursing home can average more than twice that.40 Costs are, of course, even higher for couples seeking services.

Rob Lowe said “Long term care is the most overlooked health and retirement security issue facing Americans today.” He’s excited to help kick-off Genworth’s #LetsTalk Tour, an initiative to help families start the conversation around long term care planning,” says Lowe. “The timing couldn’t be more perfect. He also said ” having that talk is like the adult Birds and the Bees, you don’t want to have that talk but you have to.
I loved that quote and it’s good to see how concerned he is and how he had this conversation with his loved ones.

A surprising fact I learned about long term care was: people are five times more worried about being a burden on family than they are about dying.

Check out Genworth’s Let’s Talk Tour page: https://www.genworth.com/lets-talk/letstalk-tour.html

I know what I have to do. This was a very informative day with Genworth and Rob Lowe. I am going to have this conversation with my mother and inform her of this valuable information. She loves having talks so I expect this to go smooth.

I HAD A #GETTINGGORGEOUS FUN DAY WITH THE LADIES

21 Jun

When you hear the words Getting Gorgeous what comes to your mind? Well, for me I think of beauty, fun, friends, and lots of goodies. I get excited months in advance knowing that Vera and Audrey are working on a fabulous day for us bloggers to be spoiled and pampered. This year at the “Getting Gorgeous” event was just as fabulous as last years. You have to be there to know what I’m talking about. If you didn’t get a chance to attend I will share with you what I called a great day.

This year attendees got to be on the red carpet and be interviewed (pretend) by “Red Carpet Kids” an immersive event & experience company that allows children and adults the opportunity to step into the exciting world of being a celebrity. It was fun and they said I was a pro. I love the camera and paparazzi. Lol.

V05 treated the ladies to blow outs and hooked everyone up with shampoos, conditioners, hot oil treatments, mousse, hair spray and gel. Whatever you needed they had it all. You know I stocked up. It’s time for a hot oil treatment. I used the Silky Experiences Shea Cashmere and hubby said my hair smelled good. It was very soft and silky and it sure did smell good. I used it on my daughter’s hair too and she loved it. I also used the Perfect Hold Styling Mousse and the Anti Frizz & Shine Styling Cream. I loved the wash and mousse curly look. Got lots of compliments.

There were also foot massages and manicures for those who needed some pampering. I absolutely loved the manicure I received from Vanity Projects. They used Dior nail polish and I picked a gorgeous gray. That color and brand will be my favorite from now on. Don’t get me wrong I will try other colors but I am obsessed with that one. They also put a little bling on one of my nails.

Bali Intimates were giving bra fittings and showing their new line of bras and I must say that I was overdue for a fitting and found out I very been wearing the wrong size. How many of you know if you’re wearing the right size bra? I suggest you schedule a fitting as soon as possible. I loved all the bras they brought along and was able to choose one. The one I chose launches in July but it will be well worth the wait and in the right size might I add. I loved the texture, colors and styles. They were all comfortable. and didn’t dig in my shoulders, or fall off. Must start a new bra collection in my correct size with Bali Intimates. Thank you for the perfect bra Bali Intimates.

Voli Spirits owned by Pit Bull is a delicate blend of the finest multi-distilled wheat vodka, natural spring water and infused high quality natural flavors. Voli is an extra smooth vodka with a superb light finish. There are six different flavors. Tastes great!! Recipes for amazing drinks for your next party can be found on their website. I will be creating a special 4th of July cocktail on the blog so stay tuned for that.

Vitabath is always a pleasure to find at any event I go to. They always create these new amazing flavors that get me hooked every time. Loved smelling all the body wash and lotions and seeing my favorites. New scents included Asian Orchid & Coconut. Also ladies stock up on the Bloom Beach Blossom Collection. There is also the new Sweet Vanilla Amber fragrance. Mini gift packs are available for camp, teachers, birthdays, college, etc. I used to have a favorite but there’s too many I like so I can’t choose just one. I enjoyed my Vitabath today.

Designer Imposters and Body Fantasies brought along fabulous body sprays in all flavors and Calgon products as well. I loved the Hawaiian Ginger body wash and body cream and can’t wait to try the Epsom salt. Body Fantasies have their Signature Body Fantasies Vanilla Body Spray which is definitely something I will be stocking up on. Designer Imposters got me hooked on their Viva La Juicy by Juicy Couture body spray. I can’t stop using it. I want to try them all.

Rexist360 is a power band where non-athletes/athletes can dramatically increases strength, speed and endurance. The band comedy’s in multiple grades with the ability to scale up and down while walking, running or training. It targets your abs, calves, glutes, lower back, hamstrings, quadriceps, hip flexors and hip adductors. I made sure I got one. I can even use it in the house when I’m doing different things.

Stop and Shop grocery store where you can shop online and have your groceries delivered to you. There’s a grilling contest going on now. It’s called. Master the Grill. They also have tours going on in their stores for the kids where they can learn about healthy eating. Check them out on Twitter.

Pampers products have been a favorite of mine since my first born in 1990. They came to Getting Gorgeous with their collection of Training Pants for boys and girls. If I could have carried more I would have for my cousin.

Summer Infant showed us their pop n play play pen that can be used indoors or out. Video monitors, strollers, bottles, clothing and treated us to cherry lemongrass or lemon basil shaved ice. I loved the cherry lemongrass which was very popular.

Romio offers praiseworthy neighborhood services recommended by friends and local experts. Need a recommendation? Just ask.

LITTLEST PET SHOP SEASON 3 PREMIERE & NEW 2014 FALL LINE #LPSPremiere

8 Jun

My daughter and I headed down to Bryant Park Hotel for an exclusive premiere of Season 3 and a sneak peek at the upcoming Littlest Pet Shop Fall line. My son decided to sit this one out because it was a girl event he said.

Once inside we were greeted by all the new toys, clothes and accessories that were going to be available this Fall. We loved the playing with the toys and the sneakers, and backpack were a big hit. If you know my daughter she wanted it all. Lol.

After we checked out the collection we were given popcorn, water, cookies, goldfish and a banana to go enjoy a few episodes from the show that is airing June 7 and 21st on the Hub Network. The premiere episode aired May 31st at 9:30 a.m EST.

My daughter also took a picture with stuffed animal Penny who was seated in the theater for all the kids to take a photo with.

The episodes were great and my daughter has always been a fan. She makes sure not to miss an episode and plays with her toys everyday.

We enjoyed our mommy and daughter day with Hasbro and the Littlest Pet Shop.

Disclosure: I was not compensated for this post. Opinions are mine 100%. My daughter was given a gift bag.
