I was very excited to attend a launch event with Braun at the German Consulate. I love kitchen appliances and gadgets as the home cook and foodie that I am this was right up my alley. The tables were decorated so lovely and the views from up above was amazing. Brunch was very good and hands on demos made me want to whip up a recipe right on the spot. I also tested out the hand blender. I’ve always been a big fan of Braun appliances and was happy to see what Braun could come up with next. It was also nice to see some of Braun’s appliances from decades ago up until now. I was beyond happy to take home the Multiquick 7.

I’ve always loved all types of salads and having a good salad dressing just puts the icing on the cake. What I tried to deny to myself was even though I’m eating a healthy salad I knew once I added that creamy dressing it wasn’t as healthy as it should be.

I took my kids to the Kids Food Festival in Bryant Park a few years ago and at one of the booths there were two guys (brothers) who were sharing their heathy organic ketchup and organic mustard with the kids. The name of the company was Tessemae. I purchased a few bottles and from then on they have been on the top of my shopping list.

Johnsonville asked me to create my own variation of a kid-friendly breakfast for Mother’s Day. My kids were excited to work in the kitchen with me. We love cooking together and thinking of new recipes. 

We came up with a corn muffin, sausage with maple syrup. Easy to make, don’t have to turn on oven and easy clean up. Perfect for any size hands. It’s like stuffed French toast. 

Recipe: 

*1 or 2 packages of store bought corn muffins or you can make from scratch. 

*1 package of Johnsonville fully cooked breakfast sausages (turkey or original)

*Maple syrup (drizzle on what amount you want)

Directions:

In a skillet or frying pan heat up sausages for 7-9 minutes (or maybe even less than that). Flip a few times. 



Cut muffins in half, place in frying pan with butter already melted and heat till nice and bubbly. You can brown on both sides or just one side. Place sausage pattie on corn muffin, add maple syrup and place other half of muffin on top. 





There you have it! Three ingredients, fast and ready in no time. Johnsoville sausage patties fit perfectly on corn muffins. 

My daughter also came up with a quick snack or appetizer with Johnsonville sausages. She put crackers on a plate and added the Johnsonville sausage and tater tot on top. The tater tot had cheese melted on as well. You can add so many things to it. I thought she did a great job.




We also made a classic breakfast wrap with egg, cheese and Johnsonville sausage. We love our wraps in the morning.

Mother’s Day for me is spent with my family. I know for some it’s a day to relax minus the kids, a spa day or dinner in a fancy restaurant. I enjoy cooking so I will be making dinner for my family a day ahead so we can just heat up the next day and have more time to spend with each other. Leftovers taste great too. I made a sample of baked ziti in my new Certified International Solstice 4.75-qt. Cream Rectangular Baker from JCPenney. JCPenney BOGO Challenge #soworthit

JCPenney’s penny deals were here to update my bathroom. The buy one, get one for 1¢ (BOGO) deals from JCPenney were available April 14-17.   

 I was asked to participate in a Shopping Challenge with JC Penney with a $25 gift card to see how much I could buy to spruce up my home for spring. 

I headed downtown to JC Penney and took advantage of the penny deals. I found amazing spring colors in the bath towels and washcloths. 

The bath towels I picked out were $12 but I got them for $9 with an extra coupon I received and the second one for a penny. The washcloths were $6 after using a coupon and the second for a penny as well. So I had a total 4 towels and 2 washcloths for $23.99. What a great deal and still had change left. I also found a great sale on sheet sets which were regular $30 down to $7 and with my coupon came to $5. I purchased 4 sets which came to $20.42. Excellent!!! 

 I also participated in a “Penney Day” BOGO promotion Fashion Challenge April 13 to April 17, where customers could purchase one item from select private label brands and get another for just one penny. Participating brands included the Original Arizona Jean Co., St. John’s Bay and Xersion. 

I was given a $30 gift card to get my fashion challenge on and see how many outfits I could come up with. I have to be honest. It was harder with the fashion challenge because I couldn’t find the items in the store that I searched for online. Some items didn’t have my size so I headed to the jewelry section which was (you guessed it) buy one get one for a penny. I did purchase a pair of jeans and a shirt but took advantage of the coupon I was given as I walked in the store.  These clothes weren’t part of the BOGO deal. I would have purchased the BOGO clothes online but I knew it wouldn’t get to me in time. So with this challenge I didn’t go over budget because I purchased the jewelry. The clothes I purchased separately and still did good using my coupon. It was so worth it!! I still got what I wanted and I was very happy. 

I enjoyed partaking in these challenges and getting myself and my home together for Spring. With deals like these how can you not love shopping. Keep checking out JC Penney’s for more deals.

April is finally here and the trees are blooming. It is also known that April showers bring May flowers . Do you know what else April brings? It brings lots of grilled cheese sandwiches. April is National Grilled Cheese Month. 

I grew up on lots of grilled cheese sandwiches and my kids love them just as much as I do. There’s so many varieties of cheese to choose from and that goes for the bread as well. But for me I am very selective. I’ll try all types of cheeses but I love bread that can make my sandwich taste great and hold all that cheese that I pile on.

I was asked to make grilled cheese sandwiches with this wonderful bread and you know I couldn’t turn down that offer.
