Meeting Celebrities

8 Nov

I’ve met quite a few celebrities in the past but weren’t able to save the pictures I took with them. However, I was able to meet a few more this year and they were all very nice and didn’t mind taking pictures with their fans.

I meet the majority of celebrities at movie screenings, red carpet events, or fashion shows. Sometimes I just snap a picture or if I’m close enough to ask for a picture I make sure to jump at the chance.

Any celebrity is fine as long as their cool. If I see they look like they don’t want to be bothered then I leave them alone. I met Queen Latifah one time in the ladies bathroom but I wasn’t gonna dare ask her for a picture in there so I just smiled and left her alone to take care of her business.

Just like you and I we have good days, and bad days. Sometimes we smile, sometimes we don’t.

I have a few pictures of some celebrities below.

If you didn’t guess who they were I’ll tell you – 1. Kevin James

They were all very very nice and I enjoyed meeting them and talking with them.

What girl doesn’t love a handbag?!!

6 Nov

I have an obsession for handbags so bad that I could open up a shop. Not bragging just something I’ve been doing for a long time. If I see a handbag, purse, clutch, tote, wallet, or even suitcase I want I try my best to get it and eventually wind up with it. I will some sacrifice clothes for a great handbag that’s why my closet is stuffed beyond capacity.

I had an experience in H&M one day where a famous designer was bringing out a new collection and I had to be there. I didn’t personally know the designer but it was the buzz and I said if I don’t go I will never know what I could have got.

The store gave out assigned times you were able to shop and you only had 15 minutes. I was in the 3rd or 4th timeslot so as the line moves in you make it upstairs to see the women going crazy hoping they don’t take what you want and that they restock by the time you get to shop.

Here’s where I got my shopping skills on. As each group went in I stood on the side & looked for the women with the least items in their hands and asked if they could get an item for me and I would meet them at the counter to pay for it. Some was fine, some ignored me, and one I gave some money to for a bag I really wanted and because it was the last one and I had to have it.

I scored a pair of sunglasses, 2 bags, and a scarf. I didn’t even have to shop when it was my time and I’m glad because nothing I wanted was left anyway. Those women weren’t playing.

The reason I mentioned that story is to let you know when women want something designer or not especially at an unbelievable price we’re going to GET IT!!  I saw what I want I was thinking on my feet and I conquered.

Bloomingdale’s have their beautiful Louis Vuitton window on display. I love everything in the window and look at the wedge shoe.

Remember ladies, we don’t have to be a millionaire to get a designer bag.
These are just a few stores to buy designer bags for less :

*Marshalls
*TJ Maxx
*Century 21
*Designer Sample Sales are the best

My collection of bags will be passed down to my daughter. I hope she gets a walk in closet wherever she moves.

Crazy about Cupcakes / My favorite Cupcake Shops

6 Nov

I am a cupcake fanatic and maybe that’s the reason why I enjoy baking them with my kids. Growing up I used to watch my grandmother bake all types of desserts and believe it or not she never made cupcakes or cookies but she sure could throw down on some sweet potato pies, pecan pies, 3 layer cakes, banana pudding, you name it!

As I got older and had kids I knew one day they was going to ask for some sweets so I decided cupcakes couldn’t be so hard to whip up and I was right. I also found a few cupcake stores if I didn’t feel like baking that would please our taste buds.

I narrowed it down to a few and here is my list in no particular order :

*Sprinkles Cupcakes – 780 Lexington Avenue
Love red velvet, any vanilla or chocolate, and banana.  They have tons of delicious flavors and they are very moist and the frosting melts in your mouth.

*Baked by Melissa – variety of locations
Love red velvet,  cookies and cream,  tie dye, and, cinnamon. Then there is a flavor of the month that you can pick as well.  Bite size mini cupcakes that you will wind up eating the whole box. Delicioso!

*Crumbs Bake Shop – variety of locations Love red velvet,  squiggle,  devil’s food, and, white hot chocolate (flavor of the month). These can be eaten with a fork because they are huge but if you think one signature size cupcake is big wait till you see the colossal cupcake which is 6 1/2 inches high that feeds 6-8 people. These are very good!

*Magnolia Bakery – 5 locations in NY
Love red velvet,  devil’s food,  banana, snickerdoodle,  carrot,  vanilla, and, chocolate. The taste is amazing.

*Cupcake Cafe – 545 9th Ave btwn 40th & 41st
The cake flavors I love are vanilla, lemon,  bohemian walnut, and, carrot. The buttercream flavors I absolutely love are vanilla,  maple,  cream cheese frosting,  and lemon. The filling I get is maple,  vanilla,  mocha, and cream cheese frosting. These cupcakes and cakes are the most beautiful creations you have ever seen. These make a great gift. They make gorgeous wedding cakes and their butter cream flowers on the cupcakes looks like it took hours to do. These cupcakes are worth making a visit to. Truly delicious and out of this world!!!

I might not have a cupcake shop or mobile cupcake truck but my kids and my family still love my cupcakes as well and I will continue to bake and hopefully one day I will serve you and someone will be blogging about my shop.

Costco/ Chicken and Cilantro Mini Wonton Review

4 Nov

I love Costco so much if I could live there I would. They have everything!!  Bulk is the word. I recently went there to stock up when Sandy was over and found these amazing fully cooked bibigo Chicken and Cilantro Mini Wontons by Korean Food Company CJ. They are delicious and cook in about 5- 10 minutes by pan frying, or 1 -2 minutes by boiling, or microwave which can be used in soups. I prefer mine pan fried. These are great for a dinner party or a snack. I am addicted and every time I go into Costco I buy a bag. They have a variety of flavors but so far my store only carries the Chicken and Cilantro. Run to your local Costco to stock up and let me know if they have any of the other varieties below and how you like them.

Family/Work/Choices

2 Nov

Even though we went through hardships and damages due to #Sandy I am glad I got to spend quality time home away from the hustle and bustle of work. I hardly see my kids as it is being that I work 5 days a week and their in school and I only have weekends off. We were able to do so much even though we were indoors. We played board games, cooked together, danced, singed, scavenger hunts, computer games, went over homework, read plenty of books, and my kids made videos just being kids.I rather be home and able to be on the go rather than at my job standing 8 hours a day which is giving me heel spurs at the moment. I have a big decision to make whether to continue with the medical problems and headaches at work or do what I love and be around positive people.I think this choice is going to be easy! The only good thing is I got paid to spend time with my family. Hope everyone continues to work together and get the city back up and running and remember family will always be there for you! Be safe and have a great day!!!
