@OfficialNYDJ Spring 2015 Collection

20 Jan

I took a stroll to The London Hotel NYC on my way up to the Penthouse to preview NYDJ Spring 2015 Collection. They were introducing their City/Sport and New Sportswear Collections.

Slim fitting denim, dresses and tops are what I need more of in my closet.
When I stepped inside I was blown away with racks full of denim in pastel colors, jeans with zippers, capris and shorts in amazing prints and soft materials. Slimming tops with hidden compression tanks inside. I was loving it all and spring can’t get here fast enough. I also got to check out the sportswear collection which consisted of floral hoodies, zippered track jackets in cute prints, sportswear that I can go from the gym to shopping or just a day out in the city running errands. Loved the color block jackets and leggings. My favorite were the jackets with thumb holes and shirts with breathable air pockets under the arms.

@WeightWatchers & @Match PARTNER UP FOR A #HealthyMatchUp ARE YOU READY?

20 Jan

Weight Watchers has partnered with Match.com to help NYC find their healthiest match in a #HealthyMatchUp speed chatting event and I was about to find out what it was all about.

As I was headed to Tender at The Sanctuary Hotel on West 47th, NYC I kept wondering who was going to be there, why is this a speed- chatting event and what are these men looking for? Yep, I thought there was going to be a room full of men sitting at tables looking for that girl who was a before and after and their perfect match. I was nervous, but when I walked in it was a room full of women. Whew, what a relief!! Well wait a minute, I don’t date women sooooo, anyway came to find out their were coaches. Okay, now I can relax.

MY #FASHFORWARD DEBUT ON THE RUNWAY!!!

31 Dec

I was so excited and nervous when I found out I was going to model at the fabulous Fashion Forward Conference that I am always a guest at. I’m always counting down till the event and now I was counting down to see what great outfit was picked out for me to wear. I love to be in the spotlight and work the runway especially when the clothing fits you perfectly and you’re doing it for friends. I consider Vera, Audrey and Nicole like family. They’ve been there for me from the beginning and you will always hear me saying good things about them. Good things come to those who wait.

I modeled beautiful clothing from Gwynnie Bee and Mark Girl accessories. Makeup was applied thanks to Mommy Makeup, hair was done by Go Priv and manicures given by City Mani NYC. I loved my outfit and everything included from top to bottom. Even the kids modeled their favorite Halloween character costumes and clothing from Matilda Jane. The whole experience was amazing and I’ll do it again in a heart beat. Everyone did a wonderful job and we all had fun. It’s a beautiful thing we all get together and everyone is smiling and there’s a positive vibe.

Tons of brands showed up to showcase their products and guest Christy Turlington spoke on the panel about making pregnancy & childbirth safe for every mother with Every Mother Counts, the non-profit organization. @CTurlington @everymomcounts http://www.everymothercounts.org

For more info on these three fabulous ladies you can follow them on Twitter: @VeraSweeney @AudreyMcClellan @Momtrends

The food was great from Tacombi (Mexican) and the venue was beautifully decorated. It’s always great attending Fashion Forward and I can’t wait till 2015. Thank you for letting me model and for having a great panel of speakers and sponsors.

Disclosure: I was not compensated for this post. Gift bags were given. Opinions are mine as always 100%.

Pictures compliments of myself, Joshua Sterling-Bragg and a few other bloggers.

@landsend 2015 SWIM PREVIEW #landsend

30 Dec

It was fun attending Lands End preview to get me more excited for spring/summer to hurry up and get here and my cruise, which I just booked. It also helps me to start shopping early and planning my wardrobe for the new year. I was excited to see what was in store this time for their swimwear. I’m going to make it my business to get to the beach a lot more next year. How could I not with the amazing collection that Lands End delivered ?

I’ve always loved a good Tankini top. There’s the Scoopneck with higher neckline and wider straps, the v-neck that ties at the neck and enhances the bust and the Halter Dresskini top which is the coverage of a swimdress which you can wear over your swim bottoms.
Speaking of bottoms the High-rise bottoms caught my eye which is 1 1/2″ to 2 ” higher than mid rise bottoms for more coverage and available with tummy control. New item the Adjustable Mini Swimmini has adjustable side tie changes, attached panty and also tummy control. Love this! Another new item are the boy shorts in deep sea or black eclipse dots or plain colors.

Lots of paisley and deep sea patterns, stripes and polka dots.
The Long Sleeve Swim Tee is new and fashionable with UPF 50 sun protection. It’s designed to wear over your suit top and us as soft as your tee. Lightweight even when you’re in the water. Also a great cover-up for cool air. Attendees received one of these as a gift. I love the multicolor stripe.

The Adjustable Swim Tunic, another favorite is another must have. I love clothing with side ties. This can be worn in or out of the water. It’s so cute I’d probably wear it out of the water. The Sleeveless Swim Tee (new) is great for being active around or in the water and comes with the nautical embroidery on the bottom right hem.

For over 30 years the Tugless Tank has been fans favorite. Fits and flatters almost every body and doesn’t ride up or shift out of place.
The Slender Tunic provides extra coverage for hips without a full skirt.
Slender Grecian provides modest coverage. Shirring around the middle helps flatten and flatter right where you want. The new style Blackberry Paisley is one of my favorites.

Sandals, flip flops and slip ons are perfect for the beach and boardwalk.
Gatas Shoes are sandals that were made for quick getaways. Just slip on and go. The molded, EVA footbed protects your toes from the hot pavement. Comes in a slide or slip-on. Cork-wrapped flip flop has the lands end branded logo medallion. A ribbed rubber outsole helps avoid skids on a wet boardwalk. I don’t know who doesn’t love comfortable sandals. I can’t wait to sport these on my feet.

For the active woman on the move who loves swimming, kayaking, paddle boarding and beach volleyball there are plenty to choose from. Fabric made with Xtra Life Lycra spandex fiber that is resistant to chlorine. Also superior shape retention means an active, long life for your suit. The Triangle Bikini Top has a deep V neckline to enhance the bust. Love this!!! Multi colored. Zip- front Rash Guard that you wear over your swim top for extra coverage and sun protection with longer elbow-length sleeves. Cover-up shorts comes with or without panties.

The nautical look is personally one of my favorites with a Lands End. Now with the new textured fabrics that hides imperfections I’m on cloud 9. The V-neck one piece is drop dead gorgeous there is a band at the waist and twisted cord ties at the center front. It comes in Rosa Red and Navy Storm. I’ll take one in each color. The Sweetheart Tankini Top has stripes under the bust that add visual interest. Also, the V-Neck Tankini Top laced deep V adds a modern edge. You can reveal or conceal with the adjustable front tie that lets you choose the level of coverage.

I hope to have a few of these on my cruise and for the summer of 2015 and beyond.
Don’t forget to check out @landsend on Twitter and http://www.landsend.com on the web.

@hawkeandco F/W 2014 PRESS EVENT #FALLFORHAWKE #mensfashion #outerwear

24 Dec

I attended Hawke & Co F/W 2014 press event for their outerwear in their new showroom in NYC. Let me give you a little background history about Hawke & Co first from their mouths.

After 150 years, spanning three generations of an independently owned and operated family business, the Hawke & Co brand continues to evolve while remaining true to its NYC roots.

Our outerwear is more than the sum of its parts. Our jackets are the embodiment of our creative spirit and attention to detail. Each of our garments are carefully crafted and designed to be multi-purpose functional clothing that complements the versatility and exploration within the people we connect with.

Today Hawke & Co apparel and outerwear can be found in over 20,000 retail stores around the world. We’ve grown without expensive advertising or big name celebrities on a billboard but rather, through an authentic, grass roots idea to design and create innovative, affordable styles that satisfy our customer’s needs while exceeding their expectations every time.

We’ve come a long way since our founders first stepped onto the cobblestone streets of New York City and their standards to quality, function and design remain an integral part to our core as a company. Hawke & Co is committed to consistently deliver innovative and functional styles designed with the individual in mind. We hope you enjoy your jacket as much as we enjoyed making it.

I’ve been a fan of Hawke & Co for a very long time. I love their high quality styles for men, the warmth, how the designers listen to their customers wants and needs, durable fabrics and high tech details. Great outerwear for the outdoor adventurer and urban explorer. Outerwear that keeps me and my family warm in frigid conditions is what I look for. I think it’s time for my family and I to take a trip and explore. As long as Hawke & Co comes along for our journey I would love to capture it all.

The showroom had so many options to choose from like the packable lightweight jackets that we also received as a gift in a variety of colors. Quilted jackets, fur trimmed hooded parkas, down jackets , fleece and packlite vests in a number of colors as well. Backpacks, shoes, boots, swim trunks and clothing all looked great! My three young men would love everything there. I usually find Hawke & Co at department stores and catch the sales every time.

PRZMAN treated men who visited the showroom to a shave with their grooming products. We were also given samples to take with us. You can check out their products on a twitter @PRZ_MAN or on their website www. PRZMAN.com

Disclosure: I was not compensated for this post. I was given a gift bag with goodies. Thank you Hawke & Co.

I HELPED @MarloThomas @Kmart & @StJude FILL #KmartCarts FOR A GOOD CAUSE

22 Dec

Kmart hosted a very special toy shopping spree for the patients of St. Jude. Marlo Thomas, St Jude’s National Outreach Director for the patients of St Jude was in attendance. Kmart K-Club bloggers, Marlo Thomas and a St. Jude beautiful patient, 11-year old Mary Browder stocked carts with the hottest toys of the season to donate to families who will spend their holidays at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital have been providing free treatment for every child with cancer and life threatening diseases for over 50 years. I never knew their services were free. This is awesome. Donations are greatly appreciated.

Kmart is the leading fundraising partner in the history of St. Jude Children’s Research a hospital, having already raised more than $13 million for St. Jude this holiday season alone. In 2013 Kmart Shop Your Way members and customers donated a record $21.9 million to St. Jude- the single largest corporate partner donation ever to the St. Jude Thanks and Giving campaign. Kmart has raised more than $72.2 million for St. Jude through in-store and online donations.

Bloggers made their way to Kmart in Penn Plaza, NYC to fill carts full of toys for the kids of St. Jude. As a mother of 4 I knew this was an event I wanted to be a part of to help out the children and put smiles on their faces.

I got into the holiday spirit, put on my Santa hat and filled my empty cart up full of goodies. It was so stuffed I was still trying to add more. I picked out toys, games and costumes for all ages. The aisles were packed full of the hottest toys and I made sure to put it all in my cart. I felt like I was on a shopping spree for my kids. My daughter saw the pictures of me with my cart full of toys and asked are those for her and I explained about St. Jude and how we should help out and give to others. She said she wish she could have been there to help fill the carts. That made me very happy. We took in unwrapped toys to donate to our local pantry that week.
My cart alone totaled over $1300 in toys.
This was an amazing event. Over $10,000 in toys were donated. I’m glad I was a part of this amazing cause. Thank you Kmart.

#MOMTRENDSHOLIDAY EVENT @StellaDot SHOWROOM IN NYC

4 Dec

This year bloggers celebrated the holiday season with Momtrends at the Stella & Dot Showroom down on Wooster St, in NYC. I always get super excited when Momtrends throws their fabulous events. Donations this year were to Bottomless Closet. We were able to bring new or lightly used work clothes, accessories, coats or shoes for disadvantaged women going into the workplace. I remember years ago being part of a program like this where I got a referral to get free clothes, jewelry, shoes, etc so I could go on an interview. These programs/agencies/charities come in handy when women/men need clothing to go into the workplace. I appreciated it a lot. I didn’t mind at all donating for a good cause.

Sponsors in attendance were Teleflora, Priv, Lands End, Walkers, Little Me, Duck, I See Me, Vermont Nut Free Chocolate, Apothederm, Peanut Hottie, Stella & Dot.

Teleflora. I absolutely love Teleflora flowers because first of all they never box any of their flowers. They are delivered fresh across the US and Canada. You can choose from a variety of occasions and styles. There’s the Thinking of You flowers, Just Because and I’m Sorry flowers just to name a few.

Teleflora featured three new bouquets that captured the authenticity and spirit of the festive family holiday traditions. The trio includes a holly motif- serving bowl, a gingerbread-house cookie jar and a merry mug. Each of these bouquets will arrive with a Teleflora exclusive holiday recipe. For example, a chocolate-dipped cookie recipe accompanies the Gingerbread Cookie Jar Bouquet. Cake Boss Buddy Valastro and Teleflora collaborated and recipes are courtesy of him.

My kids loved their Gingerbread Cookie Jar Bouquet. It made a great centerpiece on their table. Once the flowers have passed on the cookie jar is a special treat for the kids to grab cookies. Check out http://www.teleflora.com and order from the Homemade for the Holiday collection. Twitter: @Teleflora

Lands End my absolutely favorite store for apparel, outerwear, footwear and home items made sure they did what they do best and brought us their holiday outfits for a few lucky bloggers to model. I loved the black sleeveless ponte sheath dress with pockets and cashmere dress cardigan sweater in red on one of the models. The cardigan gave it that pop of color. The jewelry from Stella & Dot was sparkly and amazing. The whole outfit makes a great look for holiday parties. I also adores the Déjà Vu Double-Sided Stud earrings from Stella & Dot. I need to purchase these quickly.

Lands End also showed us gifts to please everyone on your list. Cozy pajamas, socks and slippers, and warm hats, gloves and scarves.
Stella & Dot had a table full of beautiful necklaces, bracelets, and rings. Mother, daughter, niece, aunt whoever they won’t be disappointed if any of these were handed to them. http://www.landsend.com http://www.stelladot.com Twitter: @landsend @stelladot

Walkers Shortbread cookies melted in my mouth. I love shortbread cookies and was happy to see they have festive shapes for everyone to decorate with ease. I can leave the cookie shapers and flour in the cabinet and just buy the cookies, icing and sprinkles and my kids and I can make a mess without making a big mess. I rather spend hours decorating and not having to turn on the oven. For more info click here : http://www.us.walkersshortbread.com Twitter: @shortbread

Vermont Nut Free Chocolates are you guessed it, NUT FREE!! There are so many people allergic to nuts so it’s good to know we can buy all the chocolate we want with this company. I’m a chocoholic so I made sure to try lots of samples. Even the chocolate covered pretzels were good. Check out the website for gifts and other treats. http://www.vermontnutfree.com Twitter: @vermontnutfree

Priv stopped by giving manicures to those who wanted it. I’ve been to quite a few events with Priv where I’ve gotten manicures or makeup done. They come to your home and hook you up. Follow them on Twitter: @gopriv

The Duck Brand is for that crafty, DIY person. My kids and I love duck tape and crafting. Love the ideas they showed us on how to decorate your Christmas table with tape. They made a place mat, utensil holder, gift box and name card. Can’t wait to get crafty with my kids. Follow on Twitter for great ideas @theduckbrand Web: http://www.duckbrand.com

I See Me company for personalized children books. So many to choose from for babies, girls, boys. We received a voucher for a personalized book. Twitter: @iseeme_maia Website: http://www.iseeme.com

Little Me stylish, fashionable child appropriate clothing. I loved dressing my babies in Little Me when they were growing up. From newborn to toddler, soft cotton, terrycloth and velour. “Little Me believes babies should always be comfortable, snuggly and safe, free to do what they do best: play, sleep and thrive.” The pajamas were too cute. Check out the clothes at http://www.littleme.com and on Twitter: @littleme_baby

Apothederm Skin Care provided products in the gift bag. They take care of fine lines, wrinkles, dark spots and stretch marks. You can take a look at their products at http://www.apothederm.com and on Twitter: @apothederm

Peanut Hottie gave away a gift basket full of their products and kitchen gadgets. They also had samples in the gift bag. Have you ever had a peanut butter hot drink? Neither have I but I will try it and let you know how it is. Just 83 calories. That’s incredible. Available at Walmart. Twitter: @PeanutHottieUSA

We also had a catered dinner with great sandwiches and wine. There were raffles, a fashion show and great conversation. Nicole even showed us her accessory picks. I enjoyed myself as always and want to thank Nicole Feliciano and Sherri Schubert @Momtrends for another great event!!

Disclosure: I was not compensated for this post. I was given a gift bag full of goodies from the sponsors. Opinions are mine as always all 100%.

#SKYLANDERS & MORE NEW BALLOONS ADDED TO MACY’S THANKSGIVING DAY PARADE

26 Nov

Big news from Skylands! Skylanders, the popular kids video game that brings physical toys to life, is taking flight in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade for the first time! Fan-favorite Skylanders character Eruptor will join the prestigious collection of balloons at the parade, marking a significant pop culture milestone for the franchise.

To re-create Eruptor’s smoldering physique, artists used more than 40 gallons of florescent paint and five barrels of glitter! The live broadcast of the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade will begin at 9 a.m. all time zones on NBC. A sneak peek of the Eruptor balloon can be viewed via the attached graphic rendering and through additional assets in the link below.

https://www.webcargo.net/delivery/view/id/7081919/dp/sBCAUXbv6blBsfRHQD/

Fan-favorite character Eruptor, who will be flying high above the New York City skyline, hails from deep in the underground of a floating volcanic island that launched his entire civilization to the surface after a massive eruption. He’s a complete hot head – steaming, fuming, and quite literally erupting over almost anything.

I had the privilege of covering the Macy”s Balloon Fest at Citi-Field in Queens one cold Saturday morning but it was all worth it. I got to see 6 new balloons that will be in the parade inflated and taken around the lot for a test run. It was very exciting. Usually I take the kids the night before Thanksgiving to see the balloons inflated on Central Park West but this was way cool. When you’re standing there and see how big they are right in your face and taken down its amazing and they are huge. I loved Paddington Bear, Skylander’s Eruptor and the Pillsbury DoughBoy the best. It was a great morning getting to see these new balloons first and be behind the scenes with the volunteers who have make sure they handles these enormous balloons just right. Hopefully the weather will hold up for the inflation of the balloons tonight and the parade tomorrow. I would love to take the kids to both events if weather allows us and food is prepared. Fingers crossed.

STARS ON PARADE
The star power on Thanksgiving Day comes courtesy of performers from music, film, sports, theatre and television. As they reach their marks on 34th Street, the nation will enjoy their spectacular performances. Joining the festivities this year are the Big Apple Circus, Before You Exit, William Blake, Sabrina Carpenter, Cirque du Soleil, Hilary Duff, Renee Fleming, Becky G., Lucy Hale, Nick Jonas, KISS, Sandra Lee, The Madden Brothers, Idina Menzel, Miss USA 2014- Nia Sanchez, MKTO, the cast and Muppets of Sesame Street, NEEDTOBREATH, NHL® legends John LeClair and Pat LaFontaine, Pentatonix, Romeo Santos, Cole Swindell, Meghan Trainor, The Vamps, Quvenzhané Wallis, and more.

Kicking off the march will be a special group of children who have embodied the Parade’s spirit of teamwork. Throughout their remarkable run this past season at the Little League World Series, Philadelphia’s Taney Dragons displayed an inspiring level of collaboration, spirit and camaraderie – as perfectly evidenced by the group’s embrace and support of star pitcher Mo’ne Davis. In honor of that exemplary effort this year the Taney Dragons will lead the procession down the streets of Manhattan with Macy’s Parade executive producer Amy Kule.

GIANTS IN THE SKY
The Parade’s signature giant balloons have for decades showcased the world’s most recognized characters. This year, Macy’s will introduce the biggest class of new balloons in its history. Six new giant characters will take to the sky including The Weinstein Company’s loveable Peruvian bear Paddington™; the always electrifying Pikachu™; the warm giggling Pillsbury Doughboy®; the vanquisher of evil the Red Mighty Morphin Power Ranger; the lava spewing Skylanders® Eruptor; and the friendly locomotive Thomas the Tank Engine®.

Rounding out the ballooning line-up are returning favorites including Adventure Time with Finn & Jake, Diary of A Wimpy Kid®, The Elf on the Shelf®, Hello Kitty®, Papa Smurf, Ronald McDonald®, Snoopy and Woodstock, Spider-Man, SpongeBob SquarePants and Toothless of How to Train Your Dragon. #MomMixer HOLIDAY SHOWCASE WITH @CVS_Extra in PHILLY

23 Nov

Another road trip was taken to Philly with my kids and friend Geanine and her son for the Mom Mixer with CVS Holiday Showcase. This year it was held at The Franklin Institute which is beautiful. There’s so many exhibits to see. We love museums and getting our education on. We will definitely return to check out the Sesame exhibit (The Body), Yoga with Elmo, Kitchen Science and Body Worlds: Animal Inside Out.

As always Colleen @ClassyMommy and Whitney @WhitneyMWS know how to get awesome sponsors to come out and meet a room full of bloggers for a fun filled day to gear us up for the holidays.

It was rainy and cold this particular day but that didn’t stop us. The kids were just as excited as we were and I couldn’t wait to see lots of familiar faces and new ones.

Sponsors in attendance and or gifts in gift bags included:

It was a room full of gift and stocking stuffer ideas from toys, lotion sets, coffee mugs, chocolates, cookies, even the famous North Pole communicator. CVS had me hooked with their delicious cookies and candy from their Gold Emblem line. I even won the CVS North Pole giveaway prize pack. I love to sparkle on holidays and Stella & Dot had beautiful sparkly jewelry and accessories. Stride Rite has cute comfy boots, sneakers and shoes for little feet. Spaghetti Headz had their famous hair accessories for the girls. Mixed Bags Designs provided everyone with their awesome huge reusable colorful bags to carry all of our gifts in. Wicked Cool Toys always bring along cool toys for the kids like Vrum the toy box that children ride on. Toys are packed inside while kids take a ride. Hasbro News is one of my kids favorite. My Little Pony, Play-Doh, Nerf, Transformers just to name a few. We love our board games like Monopoly and thanks for giving my son Battleship. TeleBrands amazed me and my kids with their Wow Cups. These are spill-free cups. Every family with kids should have theses. Kids can jump, run, roll and the drink always stays in. Amazing! Paul Frank gave out cute t-shirts in the gift bags. Love Paul Frank! Just Play Toys knew what they were doing when they had a display full of Care Bears, Puppy Surprise, Doc McStuffins Walk ‘n Talk Doc Mobile and Doodle Bear Toys. My daughter was extremely happy to win the Doc McStuffins Walk ‘n Talk Doc Mobile. Mcdonalds was happy to show everyone fresh ingredients used in their foods. Rodan and Fields a skincare company came with samples of their products for softer lips and face samples. My son spun the wheel at Sahara Sams table and won a pass to visit this amazing indoor/outdoor water park located in Berlin, NJ that’s open all year. We need to be there right now. We also want to visit Diggerland the only construction theme park located in West Berlin, NJ. Love water and theme parks. Elmo even made an appearance for the kids.

I’d like to thank everyone who made this event possible. My kids and I enjoyed ourselves. Will see Whitney and Colleen next year. We also had to make a stop at Geno’s Steak for Philly steaks. Yum.
